BERFIN'S POV
Yusuf's lips parted and closed, then parted again moments later.
"Berfin, I... I can't say I'll love you right away, but this is a step. A step towards loving you," he said. I gazed into his eyes, my heartbreak evident. As he took a few steps back, he spoke truthfully, "What do you expect, Berfin? For me to love you immediately and welcome you into my heart?"
The ringing phone disrupted everything, and Yusuf cursed before answering it. Whatever the person on the other end said made his face turn deathly pale. A few seconds later, only the name "Berivan" escaped his lips.
