Chapter 9 Picking up the kids

Stella POV

After leaving Cynthia's house l want straight to my office because there is a lot work waiting for me to do since it has been away for six days from work so there will be a tons of things for me to do although Ajoke did some for me but she can cover everything.

when I arrive at the office I met Ajoke is busy talking on the phone with a client who want to prepare a surprise birthday party for her mom.

" That's perfect I will call the designer after I drop your call , thanks bye" Ajoke dropped the call and exhale .

" Good afternoon , what up? you look exhausted I am so sorry for making you work more than you should have" I said as I walk in.

" Ah! Good afternoon to you too, I don't know how you are coping with all of this, it so exhausting" Ajoke reply and complain how stressful my job can be.

"It not that bad, you just have to listen first and record every detail of the the meeting especially with clients that don't know what the want and always changing their mind on what they have decided on , but what can we do you just have to follow what they want because it's their party not yours" I said to her .

"You are say that because you are use to it , do you know how annoying it is to redo all what you have already finished, wedding is also hard to plan , the couple want something , the bride parent also want to contribute their own idea, the groom family also want something too , you are doing a great job handling all that drama " .

"I also use to face what you face but next time you will ask them to calm down then ask them what they want , when you collect their idea then look for theme that all include all their idea if that doesn't work you just have to show them what is really important which is their children happiness" .

"You don't know how scary they can be when they all yell at the same time" .

"Don't worry you will learn how to deal with that kind of situation with practice. just brief all what you have done in past few days after you are doing you can go on holiday that I promise you okay " I told her and wink .

"Stop that , you mind is so dirty I just got engaged not married yet why giving me holiday "

"I didn't say anything you are the one thinking about dirty things okay, I only give you holiday I didn't tell you how to spend it " .

"I will not talk to you anymore " .

"okay okay sorry I will stop teasing you " .

Ajoke brief all what I missed during my absence .

It has been four hours since Ajoke left the office.

'Ah it already this late , let me go and pick the kids for sister Bimbo's place before it late' I said to myself

Thirty minutes later I arrive at my sister's place .

"what up children " I said to my kids as I walk into the house .

"Mommy Mommy we miss you" , and my children rush to me only my first child christiana is still standing look at me .

" Good evening ma " christiana knee to greet me

"Good evening how are you my darlings" I hug my children "where are your cousins? " .

"They went to their grandparent house you know they always stay with their grandparent during their holidays" my elder sister Bimbo said as she is just coming out of her room to greet me.

"Oh that true, e ku irole ma (good evening ma)" greet her bending my knee a little .

Bawo ni ku irole ( Good evening how are you) sister Bimbo reply .

" Go and pack your bags we are leaving now you know when we get home we still have to cook and clean the house" I said to my children then I face my sister " sis a ma soro Lori phone e je ki a Tete Malo ki ile to su ( we will be talk on phone sis let leave now before it late)" I said to my sister

The children return with their bags

"okay be careful on the road bye" my sister said as she walk us out of are house .

"Bye Aunty " my kids said to my sister as they enter my car.

Then I drove out of my sister's compound.

When we reached home they drop their bags in their rooms and empty the bags then putting their stuff in the bag to the rightful places

Then we clean the house since dust has cover everything, we sweep ,we mop ,we dust and some other cleaning activities.

After we are done cleaning up the house I told the kids that I will only cook noddles for them because I am really tired and they agree

When we are done eating we stay in the living room and watch TV and digest the food before we went to bed.

The next few days I started following my normal routine expect am busy then I usual because Ajoke is on vacation and I have tons of work from my previous absence so I can't go to Cynthia place as I promise but I always call her just to check on her.

But today is Sunday my only Free day in a week except I have a party to look after of course, but today am free .

I drop my children at my brother Muhammad's place because they said they don't want to stay at home during their holidays so I promise them that I will take them to where they want to go if the place is appropriate.

After dropping the kids I went to Cynthia's place to check on her , I stay for few hours and then I went back to my house to rest because I need a long rest and with the kids absent I can fully rest without any worries.
