Elayne's POV
If there has ever been a time in my life when confusion has been the order of the day, it is now. Shock is another word to describe what I’m feeling. Alessio doesn’t even give me a say in the matter before he ends the date, and walks to the car. The drive home is a hushed one between both parties, not one of his men even bothering to utter the slightest of words. I want to object to so many things, and tell him I deserve to have a say just like he does, but who am I.
We get to his estate, and arrive at his villa, but I’m so f*****g desperate for attention tonight, and that makes me do the unimaginable. I didn’t lock the door properly when we left the restaurant, and I highly doubt his driver checked, and so before he parks, I open the door, and run out, my head almost slamming into the concrete. It would have been the end of my life tonight because I’m damn too obstinate. I’m running up the stairs before I know it, but I can hear him yell at his driver about why he didn’t ensure the doors were locked properly before moving. Honestly, I could care less.
I don’t take off my dress, and neither do I take off my makeup. I just land on the bed, face first–I don't care if some of the makeup smeared on the sheets. I'm literally dealing with the biggest thing I've dealt with in my life. It's like I fell into depression suddenly. It all happened so quickly.
And that man, he doesn't care about what I have to say. Yes, I broke into his house to steal something I know is valuable which I am never going to spill–over my dead body, and I'm also aware of the fact that a thief has no choice, but my life is already so f*****g miserable. I'm stuck in this room, in this house. I don't know if I'll see another day. Yes, he did say he wasn't going to kill me, but do you expect me to believe the words that come out of a man like that's mouth? Of course not. My mental health is declining. I need to say someone, but f**k if he'll let me do so.
I cry, and cry, and cry until I pass out.

"Open the f*****g door." That is the voice that wakes me from my slumber, but I don't budge. I roll over so that I'm now facing the ceiling, still in the beautiful, yet ugly dress of last night, makeup, heels, and jewelry still intact.
The banging goes on and on coupled with threats from whoever to break down the door. I'm not scared because I know it's possible. It's just a matter of when.
I'm deep in my thoughts when I hear the sound of the door hit the ground, and I still don't budge.
"Non doveva arrivare a questo. Avresti potuto aprire la porta." I hear Alessio's voice as I'm staring at the ceiling. I don't turn to look at him, but from my peripheral vision, I can see that he's wearing a robe. I don't have a problem with him wearing it, but what I do have a problem with is why he has to wear it to my room.
Translation - It didn't have to get to this. You could have opened the door.
"Fucker, are you deaf. I've told you time, and time again that I don't speak Italian." I sit up in an instant, the sound of the heels I still have on clicking on the floor.
"See who got some nerves overnight." He chuckles lightly, and that's when I'm able to get a full look at what he looks like this morning. His hair is tousled, and he's got those closed toe indoor slippers that my grandpa used to wear anytime I went visiting when I was younger, and it does make him look ridiculous. I really want to laugh, but nothing is amusing. He has also got hairy legs, and I want to wax them so aggressively he yells. I can't help, but stare at them.
He's holding a cup of coffee, and looking like a rich man—what am I talking about, this man has got so much money.
"What are you doing here, anyway?" I look at him as he stands in front of my bed, his lips leaving the seam of the cup. He licks his lips.
"Oh, just here to look at you before you become Mrs. Fiorentino." A smile etched across his face after he says that. Honestly, he looks genuinely happy, and that makes me want to land a slap on his face. How dare he be happy? Who gave him the license to?
Alessio makes himself comfortable on the couch across from me, crossing his legs like he rules the whole world. I have nothing to say, honest to God. I try to calm down because emotions are boiling inside me. I want to walk over to where he is, grab the cup of coffee, and slap it against the wall while he watches and it registers in his brain that he's about to forcefully get married to a crazy person.
"Hello,"
About two strange women have walked into the room by the time I angle my neck to face them. Their both hands have bag handles curling on them, and I don't need a prophesy to tell me that the wedding dress is in there. I hope it's at least cute.
"I'll be here while they dress you up." Alessio smiles like an i***t again.
"Why are you so happy for this wedding? Isn't the groom forbidden from seeing the bride until the wedding? I heard it brings bad luck."
"First of all, thief, tell me why I shouldn't be happy? This feels like one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Secondly, this isn't your ideal wedding, so get rid of whatever you've imagined this to be. Planning to marry you was never meant to bring good luck. " He spews out.
Wow, that actually hurt, and I feel some sort of ache in my chest. I shake my head, and look away.
"I guess I'll have a bath then." I say, shrugging because I'm lost for words. My comeback will be great though, and I'll render that motherfucker speechless for as long as he sees me.
By the time I get out of the bathroom, the dress has been put on the bed, and for a few seconds, my gaze doesn't depart from the bed. I am speechless. It's a black dress that fits the description of what a murderer would wear. Like he said, it really isn't my ideal wedding. Also, the dress covers up the majority of my body. I'd have loved to show some skin, but f**k this.
"What is this?" I ask, gesturing at the dress on the bed. Alessio is still very much comfortably seated on the couch, just that his coffee is finished.
"Exactly what it looks like." He says, clasping his hands together, and waiting on what is to happen next. A towel is wrapped around my body, and I have to dry myself up, and do the needful. Is he going to sit there, and watch me?
"I think you need to leave. I want to dry myself, and take this thing off." I eye him. He gets up immediately to leave. The strange women that walked in before I had my bath stand are seated on my bed, and I don't even know what to tell them.
"The both of you need to leave as well." I tell them, gesturing at the door that is no longer there. I don't even have privacy any more, but I'll work with what I have.
"But Master Alessio–" I cut her mid sentence.
"Well as you can see, your master Alessio isn't here anymore so it'll be very great if you follow his lead." A fake smile that doesn't even reach my eyes forms across my lips.
The make crazy noises, and jump up to leave the room, and I'm left alone with my thoughts, and the stupid, black wedding dress on the bed. It doesn't take too long to get it on. Also, I haven't told them yet, but I will not be wearing any makeup for the wedding. I do not care how I look.
It's been a while since I've been here, and I really need to take out my braids. If I were in the United States, I'd have called my wig installer, but I don't even have any wigs to throw on. It's very obvious these braids need to be taken out.
I wear my heels, and reach for my glasses on the nightstand–it's been a while since I wore them.
I walk out the door in only my black wedding dress, and heels. I made sure to do skincare–Alessio was kind enough to include that in things he got me, there's no makeup or jewelry on my.
I'm in the hallway now. I want to see Alessio, and what he plans on wearing. I make my way to the stairs, and go up.
I knock on his door, running my hands on my dress as he opens the door.
"Aren't you late?" I ask, eyeing him. This is definitely not an ideal wedding. Who wears a t-shirt and jeans for a wedding. I eye the Patek Phillippe sitting on his wrist, and I smile. Might as well pull off something today. It's been a while.
"Oh yes. Wouldn't want to keep the priest waiting."
