Chapter 15

Athena's POV



I almost kissed her. I wanted to hit myself so bad. But how could I not when her plump pink lips were only inches from mine. She didn't push me away so she must have wanted it too right?

I could have sworn her eyes also flickered to my own lips. Then I got us a single room with one bed what was I thinking?

That maybe that could bring us closer? Stupid brain!I wanted to bang my head so hard.

I couldn't take it back now could I?

Let's just get this meeting over and done with. Harry assured me Damien wasn't in any illegal business but if he was he knew how to clean up his tracks so I wouldn't be caught up in anything.

I had our driver take us to his company. Sitting in the backseat with Esty I could see her from my peripheral vision staring in awe at the city.

I admit Delta is really beautiful maybe I could take her to one of their famous towers.

The city lights illuminates everything and it's amazing at night. I'm sure she's going to love it

We have Tuesday and Wednesday to explore Delta no worries. Fingers crossed I don't mess anything up.

"We're here Miss,"the driver says.

"Thank you,"I thanked him opening my door and going to Esty's side so I could open for her.

Of course I'm a gentlewoman.

"Thanks Athy,"she smiled softly.

"My pleasure pretty lady,"I smirked

It's so cute to watch her squirm and blush when I compliment or tease her.

We walked into the building and people gawked at us. More like bored holes right through Esty.

I could see why. She has on some tight black skirt and her curves are all showing.

I glared at some of them and they looked away immediately whispering.

I could care less what they had to say,I'm only here to sign some crappy partnership and leave.

I'm not jealous or anything I just don't like the way the men were staring at her like she's a piece of meat.

While the women gave her the dirty looks as if she stole their husbands.

"You jealous Athy?" Esty asked beside me

"As if" I chuckled.

"Why do you say that?"

"I saw the look you were giving those people,don't mind them am used to such looks"she said.

"It's just disrespectful if them" I mumbled.

"Its okay Athy"she said taking my arms in hers and patting them.

I felt a surge of electricity course through me when she held my arms.

The tingly sensation didn't go away even after she had dropped my arm from hers.

Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves I pressed the elevator to the boardroom that was on the last floor before the roof.

She really doesn't know what she does to me.

"Welcome Miss Ealwood,Miss.

Hernandez,right this way" a tall dark skinned man pointed us to the boardroom.

"You sit next to me" I said to Esty as we got in.

"Ah..pleasure to meet you Miss Ealwood,"I turned to Damien who sat in the far end of the long table.

"Damien...pleasure is all mine,"I nodded sitting and pulling a seat for Esty.

"How was your flight Athena"he questioned while he stared at Esty

See this is what I hate about greedy men like him.

Drooling over anything that has a v****a.

"Let's cut to the chase Damien, we're here for business not pleasantries" I hissed.

"Oh Athena you still haven't changed huh?"he said smirking.

I'd love to swipe that smirk off his face.

"Yeah and I don't plan to,"I hissed again.

I could tell Esty was uncomfortable.

"Now why'd you want me all the way here and this better be good"

"Of course only the best deals with the best companies"he said smugly.

"Yeah right,now what's your proposal?" I asked getting impatient

He just annoys the hell out of me.

"I propose a partnership with our two companies,I assure you both of us will profit from this joining"

"What will I be benefiting because I know you haven't been doing too well for a while now?"I stated matter of fact.

"See there's where you're wrong Athena,yes I did lose a lot of profits and dealers but I only gained more and my supplies are now vast. I can assure you we'll make double the profits if people hear our companies have partnered and you could use that to your vantage. Your enemies won't even get close to where you are. Untouchable. Yes you'll be untouchable and I on the other hand can bask in your glory and increase my supply and production." He smiled

I thought for a minute and turned to Esty."What do you think Miss Hernandez,should I accept?"

"You should Miss Ealwood,if anything this is our vantage than his because you're more successful than him. You could always cancel the deal when he fails us"she said seriously.

This is why I like her so much,she's reasonable.

Wait like?????Yeah like....I know I like her.

"You have a deal Mr Ares just send the copies of the contract to my lawyers and I'll sign them then send them over,if you'll excuse us we'll be leaving" I said shaking his extended hand.

"It's nice doing business with you Miss Ealwood"he said smiling.

"You have a lovely assistant,"he added staring at Esty's chest area.

I pressed his fingers that were still in mine hard that he withdrew them with a hiss.

"Next time the lady's eyes are up here not below" I glared at him and walked out behind Esty.

"What was that about Athy?"she asked innocently.

"Nothing to worry about,now how about we go and rest we have a long day tomorrow" I said changing the subject.

We drove back in a comfortable silence. We went inside a diner near the hotel and ate some pasta before we could go and rest. It was all great.

That was until we got to the room and stood across each other awkwardly.

"I can take the couch," I offered.

"No I'll take it,you paid for the room,"she said gliding across to the couch.

"How about we both take the bed and sleep on the opposite sides,sounds good?"I asked nervously.

"S..suure,"she said unsure

"It's okay if you're not comfortable I won't do anything Esty"I reassured

Of course I wouldn't dare touch her without her consent. My mom taught me better.

"No I'll sleep with you...I mean...in the bed opposite to you"

I chuckled lightly and got under the covers. I felt the bed deep and a soft "Goodnight Athy"

"Goodnight Esty" I whispered in the dark and closed my eyes.

"....Nooooo... don't hurt me Ken I didn't tell anyone I promise..."

I woke up startled to hear Esty sniffling in her sleep. Is she having a nightmare? It must be about her ex,he must have been hurting her for her to be so scared.

Her scream came again and I shook her awake.

She woke up gasping for air,her body sweaty.

I hugged her shaking body and shushed her calm.

"It's okay you're not alone Esty I'm here,nothing bad will happen to you I promise" I cooed playing with her wet hair.

That imbecile I'm gonna make him pay some day.

That's a promise.

She stopped sniffling and I felt her snuggle close to me.

I heard her soft snores and I knew she had already fallen asleep.

I didn't want to get her off me so I just let her snuggle close and I also drifted off.
