Chapter 18

Hestia's POV

"What do you mean you want some money?"Athy asked furrowing her eyebrows clearly confused.

Releasing a deep breath trying to get out of my previous trance. I know one thing for sure,if that phone call hadn't interrupted us we would have gone through with the kiss.

"You must be kidding me Alyssa"she shouted angrily.

"Gimme a minute Esty"she mouthed.

She walked to the entrance of the roof throwing her arms up yelling profanities.

Ugh! Why's this happening to me?

Do I even like her?

I should definitely call my moms, they'll know what to say.

Getting my phone from my purse I dialed the home phone. Not a second later I heard mamà picking up.

"Hola Hernandez residence how may I help you?"her voice beamed in my ear.

"Buenas noches mamá ¿como estas?"

"Oh mi princesa eres tú, estamos bastante bien, abrazos te extraña"

"I miss him too mamà,I'll come visit when I get back."

I miss my little Cuddles he was given to me on my 16 th birthday when he was still a little puppy.

Now he's all grown-up.

"He'd love that and so would we,¿como esta Delta?"

"It's very beautiful mamà, I'll send you some pictures"

"Okay my princess"

"Mamà I need some advice,"I said nervously

Why am I even nervous?

"Uh oh! What's wrong are you pregnant?she shouted panicking.

"Lily your daughter is pregnant,"mamà shouted to mom.

"She what!!!!!?"

I just rolled my eyes they can be so dramatic.

"Mamà am not pregnant,"I sighed into the phone.

"You're not?Then what's with the advice? Is it about a guy?"she rumbled.

"Mamà just let me finish"I mumbled.

"Lexi let her talk,"mom said.

"Finally....okay so I need advice about a girl....

"A girl?"mamà asked interrupting me.

"Mamà let me finish"I sighed.

"Okay okay what about this girl?"

I know she was rolling her eyes..tsk mamà

"Like I was saying,I think I may like her,am just not sure because I haven't been attracted to any other girls before"

"Aaaaaaw my baby,"mom cooed.

"Mom no stop I want you to tell me what to do,"I groaned.

"Who is she?"mamà asked.

"Her name's Athena Ealwood,"I said holding my breath.

Of course they know her.

Who in Folksville or around the world doesn't recognize the most successful business woman there is?

"You mean Athena of Ealwood's Jewellery Companies?"Mom asked probably shocked.

"Yeah"

"Well damn that's some catch"mamà said.

"Come on mamà what should I do?"

"Does she like you back?"she questioned.

Thinking back I'm not sure if she liked me or not. I mean I hoped she did.

"I'm not sure mamà,I think so because of all the signs she gives me,"

"Why don't you give a chance if she asks you,?"mom reasoned.

"What if it doesn't happen?I end up making a big fool of myself and then what? Get fired?"I whisper yelled.

"Calm down mi princesa the most she could do is say no,"mom said.

"Princesa, solo sabrás que te gusta cuando le des una oportunidad,"mamá said.

"You're right,I should just give it a chance, gracias mamá "

"Hey don't I get a thank you?"mom whined childishly.

"Gracias mom,"I chuckled.

"I love you both but I should check on Athena she's been on the phone for long"

"We love you too princess don't forget what I just said,give her a chance"mamà said.

"I won't bye mamà,kiss cuddles for me"I said hanging up.

I can't wait for Athy to make a move,I have to do this on my own.

Make the first move.

That's it.

Only then will I know what her are motives with me.

My heart flattered at the thought of being with her.

Maybe...just maybe I may not be so STRAIGHT after all.

I heard something collide with the wall and whipped my head to see Athy furious. Veins popping from her temples.

She had thrown her phone,her whole body was shaking,she had her hands clenched in a fist.

I walked briskly to her, careful not to startle her so I wouldn't get a fist connecting to my jaw. Not that she would.

Getting to her,I stretched out my arms and held her shoulders.

She faced me and her eyes were glazed in darkness,cold air was flaring from her nose.

"It's okay it's just me,"I said in a soft voice.

I got closer and wrapped my arms around her shaking body.

She didn't move a muscle

After what seemed like an eternity,she unclenched her fists and her arms went around me.

"It's fine Athy,I'm here now"I rubbed small circles on her back.

I felt her shaking slightly,her arms tightening around me.

Was she cry....

I heard her sniffle and the shakes grew.

"She took her,"I heard her whisper between sobs.

"Who took who?"

"She took her"she said again.

"Alyssa took my little princess,"

I almost gasped out loud.

How dare she do that?

Hasn't she done enough harm leaving her behind now she wants to destroy Athy.

"We'll find her Athy, I'll be here with you through it."

I did mean it I'm gonna help her any way I can.

"You ...you promise Esty"she said softly.

"Of course I mean it Athy,you don't have to even ask"I reassured her.

"She's my world Esty, I can't live without her,"she sobbed.

I kept rubbing circles on her back for comfort. It must be so hard losing your kid,I know I can't feel her pain but I've grown so fond of Rosey so I do a little.

"I understand Athy it will be fine,how about we go rest and tomorrow we'll go back to find her,you can't go there when your head isn't clear."

"Okay then"she detached herself from me not before I pecked her cheek.

I felt her breath hitching and I smiled a little. That means I do have an effect on her.

I entwined our fingers and we took the elevator to the ground floor and drove back to the hotel.

Athy went in the shower while I brushed my teeth and got inside the sheets.

She came back in a sport's b*a and shorts.

She got in to her side and went to switch off the lamp on the nightstand near her.

I decided to scoot closer to her,she wrapped her arms around my tiny body and sighed in relief.

"We're going to get her back"she whispered kissing the top of my head.

"I know we will"I yawned feeling exhausted.

"Goodnight Esty"she said lowly.

"Goodnight Athy,"I said snuggling even closer.

"Do you know that we'll get married when we grow up,"some little girl said.

"Really!you promise"I squealed in excitement.

"I promise you,I love you Esty, you're my forever"she smiled.

"I love you too so much"I said pecking her tiny lips.

"Hey Mrs Smith,Esty said she'll marry me." The girl said to our teacher.

"That's not right Hestia, you're both girls,you can't get married to each other,"she scolded.

"Of course we can, she'll be the most beautiful bride for me,"the girl argued.

"Your parents won't allow this young misses. "The teacher shook her head dissaprovingly

"Of course they will."

"Don't listen to that meanie I'm gonna be your beautiful bride,"I said to her.

"Good now kiss me on the lips,"she puckered her lips

I leaned over and cupped her cheeks getting ready to kiss her when I heard someone shout..

"Hestia NOOOOOOOO"

I saw a track hitting the side of our vehicle and it rolled over and over with me in it. Then a swelling darkness.

I woke up sweating and panting my mouth open as I tried to breath in air.

I felt weak,what happened?Why did the person scream?

Why can't I see the little girl's face. I bet if I did I'd finally be able to remember everything.

She must be connected to me somehow.

I must have startled Athy because she woke up asking,"You okay?Had a nightmare?"

"I...need....wa....wa..ter"I stuttered still trying to catch my breath.

She got up throwing the covers and running over the kitchen.

She came back and held the glass for me to drink

I drank it all and felt a little much better. My breathing steadied and my heart beat slowed to normal.

"Wanna talk about it Esty?"she asked.

I clutched my pendant hard... I've always worn it. Mamà said it was the only thing they found me with when they adopted me.

"It's nothing really,I just have these episodes I remember a few things but if I try to remember more,I see a little girl but can't quite see her face,when I try to focus more on her I see the accident happening again and then blackness, that's why I wake up gasping for air most nights"I explained.

"I want to know the girl,if only I heard her name or saw her face I would be able to remember her,"I added.

"Am sure you'll remember someday take your time Esty, don't force it okay,"Athy said with a shaky breath staring at the clutched pendant.

"Alright then..I just wish I could remember everything,"I mumbled.

"You will...but in the right time,let's sleep I'll hold you okay?"

"Okay,"I said lying down in her open arms.

I snuggled closer to her and felt my eyelids getting heavier.

As I closed my eyes I thought I heard Athy say"I like you a lot, I'll do everything I can for you to remember me,"

I must really be sleepy to have imagined that.
