Chapter 10

Crisitano and Americus arrive at the Chi Spacca restaurant at the same time as Ferris and Zuleyka do. Americus and Zulyeka hug and compliment each other's dresses. Zulyeka is wearing a champagne bodycan off-the-shoulder sequin mini dress. Americus dress is a wine ruched sleeveless scufa off-shoulder mini dress.

Ferris still gets over how quickly Americus accepted Zulyeka. He remembers when Jewel would pretend that she didn't care if Americus liked her, but would lock herself in the bathroom, crying about it. Ferris thought a few times to ask Americus the reason she dislikes Jewel. But he never got the nerves up. Now he's glad he didn't, because everything came to light in Aspen when Americus knocked Jewel on her ass. He's brought out of his thoughts when Cristiano pats his shoulder.

"Man, I thought I had heard it all. That is, until today. My daughter told me she had a boyfriend." Cristiano shakes his head.

Ferris chuckled, "At least Casian gave you a heads up."

“Yes, little Americus did.” Cristiano pulls the chair out for Americus. and kisses her cheek.

Americus and Zuleyka are talking about the trip to Flagstaff. They want to do something for Courtney’s family. Ferris interrupts them when the waitress comes to the table.

Cristiano orders him and Americus non-alcoholic champagne. So Zulyrka and Ferris said they wouldn't drink acholo tonight either. Americus reassures them they're more than welcome to drink whatever they like. But the two said no, they were fine with the non alcohol.

Zulyeka orders the Pollo Alla Diavola Sucrostone, and Ferris orders the Hanger Steak. They laugh at Americus because she wants the grilled octopus and the porcini-rubbed short ribs. Cristiano keeps saying order both. Americus said no, she doesn't need both. Cristiano tells the waitress to bring both dishes.

Americus kisses Cristiano's cheeks as he orders the Whole Bravzino Alla Piastra. She looks at him, "Oo, that sounds good."

"You can have some of it." Cristiano kisses the back of her hand.

Ferris takes Zulyeka's hand. "Now, the reason for tonight's dinner. Which we hope turns into a celebration. My beautiful fiancée and I want to ask if you'll be our matron of honor and best man?"

Cristiano nods, then Americus rubs Cristiano's inner thigh while she's drinking some water. He smiles, "Yes, we would love to."

"See, you were worried about nothing," Ferris whispers to Zulyeka.

Americus's cell phone beeps, she reads the message and frowns, and quickly replies, "I'll make the call first thing in the morning. The day after, you and I will make a house or company visit. I love the way you think." She handed Cristiano her cell phone.

He reads the message from Kathani, "We hit that right on the nail on the head."

After leaving Crustacean, JaQuan drives straight to Lacy’s house. He tells her to get out of the car as soon as it stops. She repeatedly shook her head, "No."

"Woman, I don't have time for your bullshit tonight," He's gritting his teeth. "Now get your ass out of my damn car."

Lacy folded her arms. "You said you would stay the night with me."

JaQuan is trying to stay calm and praying that his affair with Lacy doesn't leak out. He gave the Bales and the Silverheels some ammunition, which could damage his marriage and stocks; they're already screwed up. They still haven't been able to find out the names of the largest stockholders. He points to the door. "If I have to get out of this car, then I'll drag you out and leave your narrow ass in the driveway."

Lacy rolls her eyes. "Looks like you're dragging me out. Becasue that's the only way I'm getting out of here tonight."

"It's always something with your ass. f*****g drama queen." JaQuan slams the car door. "Lacy, your ass is pushing it." JaQuan jerks the door open and starts pulling her out of the car. But she's gasping from the seatbelt. It's on her neck. "I should choke your stupid ass out." He stops pulling on it and tries to unlock the seatbelt. Now they're tussling until he slaps,

"Ouch." That hurts." Lacy grabs her face.

He unlocks the seatbelt. "Good, it was supposed to hurt. Do I need to say again to get your ass out of my car?"

She gets out of the car, stomping toward her front door, "Bastard, you'll pay for this."

"Don't f*****g threaten me. I know too much about your scheming, loose ass. One day, Lacy, you're going to push me too damn far. I'll snap on you." JaQuan gets into his car and spins off.

The following morning, after breakfast, Jewel shows Rod the houses she liked. The one that caught his attention is the one with a tennis court. Rod is already planning to convert it to a basketball court. If this is the home they decide to purchase.

Jewel's cell phone rings, she looks at the screen and sees it's Xander. "I guess they're taking turns."

Rod takes her phone. "I got this." He kisses her arm. "Hello."

Xander doesn't say anything, so Rod says "hello," again. "If you don't say anything, I'll hang up. Don't call my wife again."

"Excuse me, I must have the wrong number. I thought I was calling my daughter." Xander says, "Wait a minute, this is the right number. Is Jewel there?"

"Yes, Jewel is here. But you're not going to speak to her. This is Rod." He looks at Jewel."We know you have received the legal documents because you called her first, then your wife or mistress contacted her. So, Xander, this is how we're going this. Don't contact Jewel anymore. Whatever you have to say to her, you will call your attorney, who will call Jewel's attorney. If it's anything important, the attorney will tell Jewel. I don't believe there is anything important to speak with her about now. Every time you call this number, you'll get me. My wife doesn't need any of your bullshit. So yeah, get used to hearing my voice." Rod chuckled when the phone went dead. "I don't believe you'll hear from him again."

Jewel wraps her arms around his neck, looking at him, texting on his cell phone.

Xander hangs up and cusses Rod for interfering in his family business. He has never met Rod, but he remembers Jewel dating him for a few years. Xander doesn't know what happened between them. The more Xander thought about it, the more he realized he had never met any of Jewel's boyfriends. He has met Americus, Tanesha, and their husbands. Tanesha and Courtney spoke to him, but Americus and Crisitano looked him up and down, walked away talking.

"Those two are a pair. I haven't been able to figure them out. Jewel never talked about them much. Once I think about it, she has never talked to me about any of her friends. When she was younger, she and I talked about everything. All of that changed when she moved in with my sister and her family."

He walks into the bedroom where Technica is lying on the bed, eating bonbons. "What the hell did you say to Jewel? Didn't I tell you to leave her alone?"

She held up one finger becasue her mouth is full of bonbons.

Xander folded his arms, leaned against the wall, staring at her. Technica is talking too long, so he goes over and takes the bonbons from her."Hurry up."

"All I said was for her to drop the lawsuit. It's Jewel said that I said anything about taking her out of the Will, she's lying." Technica sits on the side of the bed.

" When did Jewel get married? She mustn't have told Alycia yet." He's walking closer to her. "Jewel didn't mention anything about the Will. But it seems that you mentioned the Will to her. No wonder she didn't want to speak with me. When in the hell will you learn to keep your mouth shut?"

She's about to say something when Xandre grabs her face. "Have you forgotten we're not legally married. I told you I would never marry you, but you could use my last time. The only reason I let you move in was becasue of Aubrey. Her wild ass is out of the house. I don't know why I'm keeping you around."
