Wrong Arrow 10
“And yeah. I shaved his eyebrows off.”
“Remind me never to get on your bad side.”
“He was asking for it. You don’t see me snooping around his things do you? He should know what privacy is. I doubt he even know what it means.”
“I mean. But still. He’s your brother. Shaving his eyebrows off, don’t you thinks that’s a little harsh?”
“They’re grow back anyway.”
“What if they don’t?”
“Pearl, this isn’t the first time I’ve done something like this and I can guarantee you, they do grow back again. But yeah. He’s been bugging me way too much lately. I had to remind him that there’s a line that should never be crossed. That journal held all my secrets and I can’t stress enough about how many times I’ve told him not to think about it. And because of that, I bring it with me all the time.”
“You mean to say, you have your journal here. With you right now.”
“Yeah it’s in my bag.”
“Maybe it’s about time you did an upgrade? A lot of people nowadays write their journals in their phones. I think it’s safer that way and there’s a hundred percent haru fee your brother won’t find it. Since it’ll also be with you.“
“Sounds tempting but you know I like keeping things traditional. Maybe I should just buy on of those journals that have a lock and key.”
“I guess that could work. I’ll try to search some up in online shops. If I find one, I’ll forward them to you.”
“Awesome.” vaeri says with a cheerful smile.
After what felt like forever, it was finally time to head home. “Mom left for a business meeting and so I have the house all to myself. Do you know how scary that is?”
“I thought you liked having the house to yourself.”
“I mean yeah. But not when it’s night. I don’t want to keep seeing things that aren’t there you know. Holy crap. Just thinking about it gives me the chills.”
“I get what you mean.”
Vaeri ells out a smile and stares at the sky. “I wonder how Stell’s doing. I haven’t seen him for a while now. Has he texted you?” She nods her head, causing her side bangs to swift with the motion.
“He does sometimes. He’s been busy the past month.”
“He sure has. I’m surprised he’s still able to keep up with his school. Talk about being a nerd.”
“You’re saying that as if you’re not one.”
“Is that supposed to make me feel bad?”
“I mean either way works.” Pearl shrugs her shoulders with a playful smile.
“But yeah. We should hang out soon. I kinda miss the guy.”
“Oh do you now? I thought you hated it when he teases you.”
“Yeah I hate it. But that doesn’t mean I hate being around him either. He’s tolerable. Don’t tell him I said any of that or you’re gonna get his for sure.” She raises a fist causing Pearl to laugh. All of a sudden, Incoherent words leave her lips as she burrows into her bag like a beaver. “Did you forget something?” Pearl asks when she notices Vaeri. “I could have sworn I had my tumbler with me just now. Did.. It’s not here.” She zips it back and grins at nothing in particular. “Yup. Not here. Must have left it somewhere in my locker.” Pearl takes a glimpse behind her. “Do you wanna go back and get it?“ She shakes her head, sniffing. “It’s fine.” It’s currently seven in the afternoon. The sunset brings a chilly feeling to one’s spine. Zach and Harper aren't too far behind. While the girls are taking the lead, they're trailing behind them. The conversation between the two humans leaves Zach to give Harper a look. After what happened this morning, you'd think he'd start to avoid doing the same thing. But no. It hasn't. "And here I thought you'd learn your lesson by now. Her tumbler this time? Really?" Zach says with one eyebrow lifted up. “She made me run flights of stairs and it was also a last minute plan. ” Harper answers him. "I made sure she wasn't in the classroom when I took it. It's different. This time I wasn't doing it for myself. I did it for her. By tomorrow, he would know who the tumbler belongs to, then he meets with her, and then bam. I take my shot and finish the task. And three days tops, I'm on to the next case." It looks like Zach has to show him the flaw of the plan. "You're an i***t. Did you at least check to see if it had her name on it? The guy's literally in a different building. He would think that tumbler belonged to anyone." Harper stops smiling proudly when the realization sinks in. "Crap." He mutters under his breath. "You literally are." Zach agrees with a nod of his head. “Meanie." Harper rubs the back of his head with another way of exhaustion coursing through his body. He's done all those work only to realize the chances of his completing this mission are vague. He lets out a sigh. There's nothing he can do about it now. He would have to think of another plan later. "There’s a meeting that will be held tomorrow in the headquarters. You shouldn’t miss it. They said it was important.”
“How important?”
Harper shrugs his shoulders. “Not sure. But it’s important. Which means you can just ignore it like what you’ve been doing.”
