Chapter 2

1394 Words
The two men at the table was silent most of the time unless they were spoken to. I do not recognise their faces, so they are not anyone I am after. I learned when I was younger, I can remember faces, and I learn all the faces on my list to kill. Sophia was putting on her best actress performance acting like a delicate little doll and nearly clinging on to the bigger man’s arm. She never touched him though as the vibe he gave off was, he would kill you for breathing next to him. I could see it as they were sat opposite me. I couldn’t care less what they were all doing. Sophia and Caterina were mostly holding the conversation, I do not know what they were going on about as I tuned them out. I could feel both men’s eyes on me throughout the meal. They would stare at me and then look at the person talking. I never interacted as I didn’t need to. My dad never told me why I was here, and I never asked. He will tell me when he was ready. When everyone had finished their meal, my dad and the two men who I never bothered to find out who they were left the table to go and speak business before dessert. I knew this was my queue to leave as I have never stayed for dessert. I don’t know what it is as I have never had it. I got up and left the table, not bothering to say anything to anyone as it was pointless, they didn’t care about me, and I didn’t care about them. Making it in the hallway I was just about to grab my bag when my Caterina and Sophia called me to stop me. I could feel my annoyance rise. I have spent enough time here and will be playing cat and mouse with my target. Being the head boss of the German mafia, security will be tighter, and I need to start digging through their systems to get my target. I stood waiting for them to catch up to me and tell me what they wanted. They kept their distance, seeing my eyes with the annoyance growing. ‘’Where do you think you are going Elisabetta, we have a guest.’’ Caterina asked me. Never before had she cared if I left after the meal, why is it different today? ‘’I have a job to finish.’’ I see them both flinch when I said this. They hate the fact I kill for a living and yet it was Caterina who put me in training. My mum died after I was born, I only had her for a few months as she had cancer. Before I turned one Caterina and Sophia turned up at the door. Sophia was 4 years old and was my dad’s child. He had a one-night stand with Caterina before marrying my mum. She had Sophia. I had never got along with either of them. The men were always the ones who get sent away for training when they are older as they will be replacing their dad, but me being my dad’s child from another woman I had to go. My dad married Caterina when I got sent away. ‘’You, young lady are going nowhere, that man in there is going to be your sister’s future husband.’’ Caterina said it all smugly like I care. I just stood there and shrugged my shoulders not giving a crap about what they said, honestly, I really couldn’t care less. This upset Sophia, her face went from the innocent doll to hatred. A snarl on her lips and hatred in her eyes. The mask has slipped off and she is showing her true side. What she didn’t know was the two men was hiding around the corner trying to blend in with the shadows. I see them moving into place. ‘’Do you even know who that is Elisabetta, who my future husband is going to be?’’ Sophia trying to keep her voice calm and composed with a hint of smugness. Why these two think I care is beyond me, they think they are rubbing it in my face to make me jealous, but I really don’t care. I wish they would learn this already. ‘’I honestly couldn’t give a crap, now I have a job to finish.’’ Ending the conversation there I grabbed my bag and got ready to head out, when Sophia spoke up again. ‘’He is the Don of the Russians. He is the highest and best Don out there. The richest and well looked after Don. He is the Godfather of them all, he runs every mafia.’’ Again, Sophia had a smug look on her face like she has won a prize. I just raised my eyebrow. ‘’And?’’ I was starting to really lose my patience; it was thin when I arrived and now it is near breaking point. My hand was twitching for my gun. Maybe this would shut them up and let me leave. ‘’You are such a freak, you should have just been killed at birth with your mother!’’ Oh, the gloves are off, I must have hit a nerve as Sophia only says this when I have upset her. I don’t know why she thinks this would upset me, I don’t know my mum she is dead. Turning my back, I made my way to the door, when Caterina spoke up. ‘’Don’t you dare walk out of that door or you will regret it, it is your sister’s engagement.’’ That. Was. It. Spinning around with my handgun in hand I pointed it straight at them. I c****d the gun for dramatic effect, and it seemed to work. They both squealed trying to scream which seemed to be stuck. ‘’Want to say that again Caterina.’’ I looked straight in her eyes, and see she shuddered. I have been told many times by people who have seen my eyes, that I look dead in them, I have serial killer eyes, no warmth in me. When she didn’t respond, I walked out of the mansion with no problems this time. Making my way back to my place as I need to get on my laptop and find my target. This time I will leave my phone at home so my dad can’t ruin it again for me. If he wants me then he can wait. What makes me laugh is they still think I have feelings and care about their stupid things. Caterina made sure I was sent away. I learned to never have feelings, I have never had a childhood, never done things normal people do. I don’t know what they do but I have never done it. I was trained to be a killer. You cannot have emotions as a killer as it will get you killed. All I know is how to do is my job, kill the target if anyone with, collateral damage, go home hack the next persons files on their computers and find their routes that is it. Why people think I care about mundane things is beyond me. When I got back to my place, I made myself a coffee and set up my laptop. I am going to need a lot of coffee as I have a long night ahead. I need to catch my mouse. Thinking back to that man that was at dinner, I sent up a prayer for him. He needs all the luck he can get as he will be married to my stepsister. Maybe after tonight he will know how to handle her as he got to see her true side. I do wish I was a fly on the wall for when he marries her and takes her home, they are both going to be in for a rude awakening. Sophia is good at spending money, never cooking and cleaning, which I am sure the husband will be making sure she is taught. The husband will find out what a b***h she can be. The tantrums will be the best. When Sophia doesn’t get her own way she will throw a princess tantrum, and of course my dad always gives in. Good luck new husband, you will need it.
