CHAPTER 6 – ONE PLAYER IS KICKED OUT OF THE GAME
Both Axel and Victor listened intently to Leah’s monosyllabic answers. She had taken the call, but hadn’t left the room. She had just paced to the window and stopped there.
Victor didn’t like that he couldn’t see her face. The detective had turned her back to the room and faced the window.
Yet, the rigid line of her shoulders showed that she didn’t like what she was being told. He could hear only her replies.
“ All right, Mark. Call the forensic team and the coroner… I think it’s Dr. Connelly on duty, which is good. He’s a very methodical man… I don’t know if I can come soon enough, but let me know if you finish there so I don’t make the trip for nothing.”
