CHAPTER 8 – NITTY - GRITTY POLICE WORK
Leah strode with purpose onto the detectives’ floor. A few people looked up, hearing the determined cadence of her firm steps.
Their eyes followed the lieutenant’s advancement with open curiosity. Her gait showed that she was preoccupied, and her thoughts were involved in complex reasoning.
When she glanced their way, suddenly they became active. Everyone found something to do.
The lieutenant disliked laziness and she had made her opinions well known in the past. No one wanted to be the subject of her wrath.
Leah made a sign to her special team, and Anna, Mark and Josh immediately stood up. They gathered their notes and rushed to follow her into her office.
