Donald's POV

1088 Words
I woke up the next day feeling my head banging with an intense headache. I touched it and tried to sit upright. “What happened?”. I asked, looking around with a hand still on my head. I was in my room but… “Why are my clothes off and why…”. My voice trailed as I caught sight of Tracy walking out of the washroom. “Donald, you're awake”. “Tracy, what the hell is this?”. I asked with a settled frown on my face. I couldn't get out of bed because I was completely bare. “What is what, Donald?”. She asked as she approached the bed. “You don't remember anything?”. “No I don't”. I replied in between gritted teeth. “Freaking tell me what…”. I was interrupted by a phone call. As soon as I saw the caller ID, I turned to Tracy. “I'll deal with you later and I want you out of my room and house this instant”. I yelled picking up the call. I placed the phone to my ear as Tracy hurriedly walked out of my room. “We apologize sir, we couldn't find her body”. The search party informed me after a whole day of searching the entire sea. “Search again”. I yelled into the phone and ended the call instantly. My face grew red with rage as I envisioned the sea and how Stephanie might have fallen into it. “I don't understand”. I muttered clenching my fists. “Her body would've been found by now”. Plus she might've been washed up on the shore and lying helplessly somewhere. It was a good thing I gave instructions for the search party to look everywhere and especially around the sea shore in the neighboring cities. "How has she vanished into thin air?”. I asked. I don't know, but I just couldn't get a grip on reality. On the reality that Stephanie was gone, she was drowned in the water. I thought back to the incident with Tracy and fury enveloped me again. I immediately got out of bed and got dressed. I had to get answers from Butler Sancho. How could he just let Tracy into my home and into my bedroom. Why wasn't he watchful enough? “Good morning, sir”. Sancho greeted with a slight bow of his head. I ignored his greeting. “Why was Tracy here?”. “Forgive me sir but she brought you back home the previous night and you were intoxicated. I offered to help but you instructed that Tracy should be the one with you…” “So she entered the room with me”. I finished for him and almost slapped myself mentally for the stupid action of mine. But how was it possible that I allowed her? “I deeply apologize, sir. I insisted but it was your orders”. “Get the car ready, I'll be going to the office”. I said instead and walked back to my room. I had to get ready because I had a business deal to secure, one that would make me richer than ever before. I strode into the office and an assistant hurried up to me. “Good morning sir, The CEO of Omicron Holdings sent a representative”. She informed me. “Where is he?”. “He is waiting for you in the conference room”. I only nodded and walked into the elevator that took me up to the floor the conference room was located on. I strode into the conference room with my mind focused on the task at hand. I was determined to come out on top, no matter what it took. "Good morning". I greeted with a friendly voice as I entered the room and approached the man. "Thank you for coming in today." We both exchanged smiles and shook hands. "The pleasure is mine, Me. Harrison. My name's Caleb". The representative for Omicron Corporation replied, taking a seat in the plush leather chair opposite my seat in the room. "I must say, I'm excited about the possibilities of our partnership." I said taking a seat myself. Caleb leaned back in his chair and intertwined his fingers together. “Of course, Mr. Harrison. We're impressed by your company's progress. In Fact, Mr. Thompson would have loved to be here but he has something to take care of”. I smiled and nodded in approval as my confidence grew. "I'm glad you see the potential. We've worked hard to develop a unique strategy that sets us apart from the competition." “We saw that and decided to take a step to invest in the company”. Caleb stated. “As shareholders in your company, we would like to have control over certain things in the company”. The plan might have been interesting but I had to negotiate. I couldn't just let the other company have control over some things In my company. “That is a pretty interesting offer, Caleb but I'd like to have a discussion with my board members first before coming into an agreement with your terms and conditions”. “That'll be no problem at all”. Caleb said and instantly got a phone call. “I guess this is it, Mr. Harrison”. “Thank you for coming”. And with that, he picked up the call and walked out of the conference room. I just knew I had to work extra hard to be able to meet Omicron's requirements. I had a lot of planning and modification to do. After working a little at the office, I went home to cool off. I went to my office to work later. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. I sat down at my desk on a faithful day as I noticed a file on my computer labeled "Stephanie's disappearance." I opened it, scanning the contents with a mixture of anger and frustration. Why hadn't her body been found yet? It was as if she had vanished into thin air. The door to my office opened and Tracy strolled. I frowned deeply at her and opened my mouth to speak when she said… “I think I'm pregnant, Donald. And it's your baby”.
