Chapter 20: The Family

428 Words
Five years had passed since Eli's proving. The Silvermoon Pack was stronger than ever. Under Kai and Maya's leadership, they had prospered. The pack was large, the land was rich, and the future was bright. Eli had grown into a strong and respected Alpha-in-training. He was smart, brave, and kind. The pack adored him, and Maya and Kai couldn't have been prouder. One evening, Maya sat on the balcony of the pack house, looking out at the forest. The sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink. Kai joined her, wrapping his arms around her. "You're thinking again." She smiled. "I'm always thinking." "What are you thinking about?" "About how much our lives have changed," she said softly. "I came here as a scared human running from her destiny. Now I'm a Luna, a wife, a mother. I never imagined this life." Kai kissed her cheek. "I always knew you were destined for greatness, Maya. I saw it the moment I first saw you." "You saw a scared girl who couldn't even shift," she said with a laugh. "I saw a strong, fierce woman who just needed a little time to find herself," he said. "And I was right." Maya leaned into him. "Thank you for never giving up on me." "I'll never give up on you," he said. "Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever." Eli walked onto the balcony, his eyes shining. "Mother, Father, the pack is waiting. They want to celebrate." Maya smiled. "We'll be there soon." As Eli walked away, Maya turned to Kai. "He's going to be a great Alpha one day." "He already is," Kai said. "He's just like his mother." "He's just like both of us," Maya said. "And that's what makes him perfect." Later that night, the pack gathered for a celebration. There was laughter, dancing, and love. Maya stood with Kai and Eli, surrounded by family and friends. "Thank you," she whispered to Kai. "For what?" "For everything," she said. "For loving me. For believing in me. For giving me this life." Kai kissed her softly. "Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for becoming my mate. Thank you for being my Luna." Eli walked over, a huge smile on his face. "I love you both." "We love you too, Eli," Maya said, pulling him into a hug. "Always." As the celebration continued, Maya looked up at the moon and smiled. She had found her place in the world. She had found her family. She had found her home. The Alpha's Mate was complete. THE END
