Chapter 17: The Heir

320 Words
Years passed, and Eli grew into a strong, confident young wolf. He had his mother's determination and his father's strength. The pack respected him, not just because he was the Alpha's son, but because he had earned their respect. He trained hard, studied hard, and always put the pack first. Maya watched him with pride. He was everything she had ever hoped for. One evening, Kai called Eli to his study. Maya was there too, sitting beside Kai. "You're almost of age," Kai said. "Soon, you'll be expected to take on more responsibilities. The pack will look to you for leadership." Eli nodded, his expression serious. "I understand, Father. I'm ready." "I know you are," Kai said. "But being Alpha isn't just about strength. It's about wisdom. It's about knowing when to fight and when to show mercy. It's about protecting those who can't protect themselves." Eli listened carefully. "I will do my best to make you proud." "You already have," Maya said, her eyes glistening with tears. "You've made us proud every single day." Eli smiled. "Thank you, Mother." Kai stood and placed a hand on Eli's shoulder. "One day, this pack will be yours. And I know you'll lead it with honor and courage." Eli's gaze was steady. "I will protect this pack with my life." "Good," Kai said with a smile. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear." Eli stood before them, tall and proud. Maya could see the man he was becoming, a leader, a protector, a wolf of honor. "I love you both," Eli said, his voice filled with emotion. "Thank you for everything." Maya pulled him into a hug, tears streaming down her face. "We love you too, Eli. More than you'll ever know." Kai joined them, wrapping his arms around his family. They stood there, united and strong. "The future is bright," Kai said. "I can feel it." Eli smiled. "And it's ours."
