Sarai POV;
It has been a month since I moved out of Jersey City, one week after I moved my old landlord emailed me. And in the email, Lisa has put a restraining order on me and she even sued me for damages. I went back to Jersey on the court date,
after hearing both of our sides of what happened the judge decided to throw out the lawsuit.
I went to the bank and withdrew eight thousand dollars from my checking account and gave it to Lisa's mother so she could give it to her daughter for whatever damages she sued me for. Her parents were with her at the hearing, Sarai please don't hold anything against Lisa but your family is very evil and it will be best for you and Lisa not to get closer again.
Mr Lee, I did nothing wrong to your daughter and I took Lisa as my only family because all the time we have known each other. But since you want me to not communicate with her or be friends anymore because of what Asia did with Mark then no problem. You don't have to worry about me ever getting close to your daughter again because she has a restraining order against me. Goodbye, Mr lee.
I got in my car and drove nine hours back home, that was the last time I saw Lisa. I heard Asia has moved back home with her parents but I don't care about any one of them.
My job pays very well and I also work a lot of overtime because I didn't have anyone to go home to. Most of the doctors at my job wanted to date me but I found out most of them were married and had a family. I decided to stay single because no one had caught my attention yet.
Most of my male patients were interested in me but I never paid them any mind, I believe true love with find me. Today I got off work very late at night and it was snowing heavily outside, while driving home my car broke down on the roadside.
Oh Sarai this is all your fault young lady, I said to myself, I've been planning to get myself a brand new car but I kept putting it up. I was in the snow trying to get a toll truck but none was available at the moment until a good Samaritan stopped to help me. The guy knew who I was and I remembered him from the hospital, he tried to fix my car but the snow was too much so he asked to drop me home but my house was an hour away and I didn't want him under this bad weather because he was still recovery.
He offers to take me to his house and swear that nothing will happen to me and for some reason, I believe him.
I slept at his house and he made me breakfast, we watched TV while waiting for the snow to stop but it looked like it wasn't stopping any time soon.
By 6:30 pm the snow was still falling heavily and they declared a state of emergency till Monday evening. I asked Jason if it was okay for me to cook dinner in his house and he told me yes, I cook red beans and rice and also make some chicken soup.
We ate our dinner and to my surprise, Jason loved my food so he decided to go for a second plate. Sarai, are you single? No, I'm married but my husband is out of time with our children, I lied to Jason and I saw the hurt and disappointment on his face but he tried to hide it
Hahaha, what's funny Sarai? Because you fell for my lies, I'm not married and I don't have any children. I was just trying to be funny. You got me worried for a second there.
So what about you Mr. Raheem are you married? No, I'm not married and I don't have any children but I have my grandmother and my two most trusted employees back in Minnesota. Hum, so you are not from New Jersey? No, I'm not but I am here to do some work for my company and get to know my workers.
Jason was very handsome and tall with a muscular body, and his beautiful blue eyes drew me close to him. Kept staring at him the whole time. After dinner, I cleaned the kitchen and Jason did the dishes. I went to take a shower and ended up wearing Jason's clothes again, Jason also took a shower and I helped him with his medication. He was supposed to return to work on Monday and I was happy for him.
Jason told me about his family and I told him about my late parents and all the abuses that went through. All of a sudden I got really cold and shaking, Jason got me a big and soft comforter to keep me warm but I was still very cold so Jason held me in his arms to give me some of his body warm and it felt amazing. We slept in the living room that night and I slept in Jason's arms.
It was now Monday and I got ready for work so Jason could drop me off, he forced me to get breakfast before dropping me off at the hospital and he also went to his office.
I kept thinking about Jason and how well he treated me on the weekend, after work, Jason was in the parking lot waiting for me. I ran to the car and got in. How was work, Jason? It was great thank you for asking.
I put my address in the GPS and Jason drove me home to my apartment, I opened the door and welcomed Jason inside for coffee while I prepared dinner for us. You have a lovely place, Sarai, thank you. An hour later dinner was ready, Jason and I ate dinner together and after dinner, he helped me wash the dishes.
Jason decided it was getting late and he had to leave so I walked him to his car, Sarai I know this is not the right place for this but I have to let you know so I can be able to sleep.
Oh no, he's about to tell me he doesn't want to see me anymore, I have fallen in love with him already. I quiet my thoughts so I can listen to what he wants to say. Sarai I've been madly in love with you from the very first day I saw you at the hospital, Sarai please give me the chance to love you and take care of you, please.
Jason, I'm in love with you as well but what happens when you go back to Minnesota? Don't worry about that Sarai, I'm still here with you and we are getting to know each other. Okay?
