Between their back-and-forth chatter, they had already arrived at the front door.
"Honey, I'm home!" Tina pushed the door open and shouted.
The next instant, a piercing wail erupted from upstairs, followed immediately by Henry storming down the staircase, his voice brimming with fury.
"Tina, do you have a death wish? I just got Sylvia to sleep and you woke her up again. Are you doing this on purpose?"
Tina hurried over and wrapped her arms around him. "Calm down, calm down. Let the nanny handle it."
Adrian stood in the entryway, watching the two of them being affectionate as if no one else existed. He couldn't help but clear his throat.
"So this is Tina's softer side."
