REBECCA Reiner was waiting for me in the hallway, leaning against the great doors of the pack house: a smile lit up his face when he saw me, and it warmed my heart. He’s feeling better. I walked over to him and he wrapped his arms around my waist, giving me a quick kiss: then, he freed one of his arms to open the door, and we walked out. The pack lands were quiet and silent at that hour: most of the people were home already, and were already asleep or getting ready to.
