"What are you doing here?" my mom said immediately as I walked into the mansion. She had her feet on Dad's lap while he was busy with work.
My dad raised his head up, glaring at me. "Why are you here?" he asked, looking annoyed.
"I came to spend time with you guys. I miss you," I said, lying to them so that I could stay there for a while.
But my dad just glared at me. "Go back to your husband's house, young lady."
I glared back at them.
"I'm not leaving!" I shouted, crossing my arms. "I just got here, and this is my house!"
"Correct your point of view," my mom interrupted. "It's my husband's house now, not yours."
"I know, but I just want to stay here for a while, Mom," I said slowly, almost on the edge of crying. "Mom, please, can I..."
"My love! I have been calling you," Jim said as he interrupted me and kissed me on my lips. I was so shocked. What was happening? And my parents were smiling at us.
Jim held my hand. "Can we go home? Please, I'm sorry for everything," he said softly, looking deep into my eyes. I was shocked that the Jim I knew as my husband, who barely looked at me, was acting this way.
He talked to my parents for a while, and then we left the mansion. I sat beside him as he began to drive.
Jim’s POV
As soon as I got to her parents' mansion, I saw her and knew I had to act fast. I kissed her on the lips to shut her up, and it worked. Her lips were softer than I thought, and my heart pounded in my chest. I tried to control myself as I finished talking to her parents. We left together in my car.
We reached the mansion, and before I could even open the door, she was already out and had slammed the car door shut. I sighed slowly; I knew she was still angry with me.
Anna’s POV
I couldn’t believe he kissed me. I was happy, but I didn't understand why, especially when I remembered how he allowed Matilda to kiss him. That thought made me angry all over again. When we reached the mansion, I got out of the car and banged the door shut. I went straight inside to our room and sat down, trying to calm myself.
