CHAPTER 4

373 Words
I never expected the wedding to be the very next day! I couldn’t even control my emotions. My dad walked me into the wedding hall where Jim was standing. A few people had gathered, and the pastor began the ceremon. Everything happened exactly 30 minutes after that we were married. The pastor said we should have a kiss together; I glared at Jim, but he didn't even look at me. He left the altar, making me look stupid, and my parents didn't even bother looking at me. I was directed by a driver into the car, but there was no sign of Jim. I reached our new home only to see Jim in the kitchen cooking. I looked at him, but he didn't even look at me; he whispered something to the maid and left the house with his car keys. For the first time in my life, I felt hurt. I looked at the hot meal and sat down in my wedding dress as I devoured it. I sat on the couch waiting for Jim, but he didn't show up. I waited until 12:00 AM before he came home. He didn't look at me and just left the room. I stood up, glaring at him. I was so annoyed; I took his hand and pushed him to face me. "What is wrong with you, Jim? You left, and now you think it’s a good time to return home?" I glared at him, but he just looked at me and headed upstairs. I was shocked; he walked out on me like that. "Jim!" I shouted at him as he walked ahead of me without looking back. He entered the room and I followed, slamming the door shut. "What was that all about?" I asked him, looking annoyed. He didn't reply to me but left for the washroom. I sat down in my wedding dress, surprised by what had just happened. Jim came out, handed me some clothes, and went to sleep on the bed as if nothing had happened. I headed to the bathroom, slammed the door, and came out after changing. I sat on the bed feeling uncomfortable. I was so tired that I got into bed right away and fell asleep.
