I was awakened by water being poured on my face by the maid. I sat up quickly, only to find myself soaking wet. I glared at the maid, ready to slap her, when she suddenly caught my hand.
"Madam, please! The boss ordered us to
wake you up so you can clean the house and cook early." I checked the time; it was 3:59 AM.
"What the heck?! Get the hell out of here! How dare you wake me up? Do you know who I am?"
"Jim!!!" I screamed at the top of my voice when the maid started dragging me out by force. She dragged me downstairs, where I saw Jim sitting down and packing our school bags.
"What is all this nonsense?" I demanded. Jim looked at me but didn't bother replying.
"Show her the kitchen and let her cook. Do not assist her," Jim said coldly.
"What are you saying, Jim? I barely know how to cook and you know it! I am a rich man's daughter; don't think you are powerful now just because we got married."
"Jim, I am not cooking," I said firmly, but the maid dragged me to the kitchen. I was so tired as I stood there, not knowing what to do.
I didn't know what to prepare. I started cutting the onions and mistakenly cut my hand; it started bleeding nonstop. I screamed as tears filled my eyes. I tried turning on the tap to wash the blood away, but I accidentally smashed a glass plate.
Jim’s POV
I stood there watching her struggle. I was starting to feel bad for her, but when I saw her cut herself, I rushed for the first aid kit. Then, I heard something fall again. I rushed back only to see a plate being smashed.
"Anna!!!" I screamed angrily. "Are you that careless? If you can't cook, at least don't break the plates! If you want to bleed, fine, but don't break my things."
I felt bad saying that, but I felt I had to. She looked at me in tears. I grabbed her hand roughly and applied first aid to the cut.
"After I was done, I watched the maid prepare the food and clean the house," he said slowly.
"Get some rest, Anna," Jim said.
"Jim," I called his name, "I am hungry and..."
"So what?" Jim asked me. I was hurt and shocked. "I am your husband, not your maid. If you are hungry, Anna, go and cook." He pushed past me and left me in the room all by myself.
I went to school today, and Jim didn't accompany me. I walked all the way to school; when I complained, he just drove away. He didn't even bother checking up on me to see if I was at school or not. I got home late, at exactly 6 PM, tired and exhausted. When I got there, Jim was eating. I looked pale, but I didn't argue with him. I headed upstairs, took my bath, and ate the food I had bought on my way home.
