"Eric, I can totally relate to how you feel right now. The agonizing feeling you get when you can't trust the ones who you should be able to trust with everything, including yourself, is painful. I went through something similar, but not with my parents. It was myself I was angry with and couldn't trust. Rebuilding trust takes time.
