I won't lie, when I heard the smack echo down the hallway, I was furious. Then, when I saw this giant of a man towering on top of this small woman, I was ready to rip his throat out.
If it weren't for his aunt stepping forward to explain his situation, and then the girl defending him, he would probably have been dead already.
However, once his aunt spoke, I chose to listen and allow a cooler head to prevail. In just the state of the pack, and his situation alone, I was starting to see that everything I had heard about Jakob's short reign was true.
However, it made me question what I knew about his parents, and even those on the former council that lived here, in the pack. Surely, it didn't get this bad in such a short period of time.
