My sisters may have been able to sleep during all of this, but Riley and I were wide awake. Riley was mostly awake due to Sterling being cranky. He was such a moody boy, so different from what Maddix was as a kid.
Maddix was so carefree and mellow for most of his childhood. It was only when our dads decided to start his training did he lose a little of his free spirit.
"He senses the stress we are all under," I told Riley. She nodded her head and cradled him closer. Sterling was maybe 8 months older than my boys, but he, in some ways, isn't as advanced as he should be. He struggles to walk, but that is only due to the fact his hips dislocate easily. His speech is stammered if he speaks at all.
