CHAPTER FOUR Elsa I woke up again, but this time around, my hands were not hanging over my head and I was clothed. I closed my eyes again, trying to remember what happened before I passed out and as soon as I did, I instantly opened them back and looked around, only to see him sitting at the opposite edge of the cell, staring at me. "You're awake," he pointed out, waving at me with the gun in his hands and I shifted back a little, which didn't pass by his eyes. "Don't tell me you're scared of me, I just saved your life," he reminded me. "Why shouldn't I? I know nothing about you, not even your name. Besides, you just killed someone in front of me and you're still holding a gun," I explained myself and he looked at the gun like he was just seeing it for the first time, before dropping it on the floor. "Michael….. My name is Michael," he revealed and I nodded in response, a pang of joy overwhelming me that I had finally known his name. "Why did you leave?" He asked, bring me back from my trance and I scoffed in response. "Right back at you. You were gone for hours and I had to go find you, afraid that something had happened to you, but here you are, looking so healthy," I retorted. "Elsa, I told you I was going to find dinner for the both of us. You should have just sat down inside the cave and waited for me," he argued, but I wasn't going to agree with him. "I should have sat down waiting for you?, when I wasn't even sure if you were going to come back or not? Does that even make any sense to you? You literally ditched me because I couldn't find you anywhere," I fired back. "I told you I was going to take you to my pack, did you think I was lying?" He asked, still calm about the whole situation and I shook my head in response. "I believed you when you said so, but you were gone for more than five hours and I didn't know if you were coming back. There was no way I was still going to have a forlorn hope after all that,". "Fine, you're right. My friends found me in the woods and dragged me along with them back to my pack. After settling in and explaining why I went missing, I came back the next day to take you to the pack like I had promised, but you were nowhere to be found and I knew you had left," he explained and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get mad at him. "You were so sure that I had left, how did you find me, then? Besides, I didn't tell you what pack I belonged to," I asked curiously and he shrugged. "One of my friends is a tracker in the pack and I begged him to find you. Even though I was so sure that you ran away, I still couldn't leave you in the woods alone and have you turn into a lone wolf," he answered and I bit my lips together to avoid cooing in delight. "Then, how did you get into the pack? Brandon is so strict with security," I asked again. "I have my ways, Elsa," he replied, but that wasn’t the correct answer, so I kept staring at him until he groaned out in frustration. "I invaded the pack with my friends and attacked everyone until they could give me a sensible answer about your whereabouts," he answered and my eyes widened in surprise again. "Why would you do something like that? What if you were caught and overpowered? You would have endangered your life" I scolded. "I had to save you one way or the other. Besides, why would a weakling like Brandon overpower me? Trust me, he is nowhere near me," he boasted and I folded my arms, raising a brow at his arrogance. "And that was the best response you could give? Boasting? Why would you go as far as attacking a pack just to save someone you barely know?" I pressed on. "I hate being indebted," he answered, standing up from where he was sitting. "Now, do away with the questions and let's get out of here," he said, walking up to me and extending his hands, which I kept staring out. "Brandon would never let us leave without a fight," I informed him, but he chuckled instead. "Your mate is nowhere to be found. Now, are you going to leave with me, or do you still want to stay here?" He asked and I knew he was getting fed up already. Without saying anything else, I accepted his hands and he gently pulled me up, helping me as we made our way out of the cell. "Your Highness, have you found….." a man said, running towards our direction and he immediately stopped upon seeing us. "Can't you just listen to my instructions?" Michael scolded and he instantly bowed his head in apology, making me furrow my brows. He tried to continue walking, but I refused, standing still as I turned to face him. "What did he just call you?" I asked, but he kept quiet, saying nothing. "You're not saying anything, Michael," I added and the man in front of us growled at me, making me turn to him. "How dare you call His Majesty by his name?" He growled and my eyes widened in surprise. I averted my gaze back at Michael, who was glaring bullets at the man's face, which made me more suspicious. "Why is he addressing you like a royal? And please, don't lie to me," I pleaded and he stared back at me. "It's just as you have heard, I am King Michael Anderson, the Lycan king of the Lycan species," he announced and my eyes widened in surprise for the umpteenth time today.
