I was looking everywhere for Mable. Adie kept worrying and accusing El of taking her but there was no way. It can’t be the entity because it’s gone, surely it couldn’t have come back? Hecate swore it was gone and there were no other bad spirits around. She’d even come back a few days later and gone within a few-mile radius of us to ensure her safety.
There just had to be an explanation. I drove back in case she had taken her home, but arrived back to an empty house. It didn’t feel right. Something felt off as if something had been here. There was a smell I didn’t recognise. I followed the smell to a letter.
