I woke in the morning, excited to take on a new day. I crept downstairs quietly, so I wouldn’t wake anybody else and went into the garden. I couldn’t help but be so happy and grateful that all this was mine. I danced around the garden, twirling around, gliding my fingers through the air. Everyone was still asleep, so I laid a blanket on the frosted grass in the orchard and read a book for a while. After such a busy day yesterday, I was expecting Felix and Mable to sleep in for a couple more hours. There was a chill in the air, and the frost glazed over everything in the garden. It made the air feel so fresh and easy to breathe. I was at peace.
