ALPHA ALEXANDER POV,
There was an attack on the mountain last night. We were attacked by rogues when we went hunting although we were able to bring some of them down and then we captured some, Landon, my beta reported to me.
An attack by rogues, and I wasn't aware? I asked.
Ryan, we were able to handle them and I didn't want to disturb you, I know how angry you can get when it gets to rogues and besides you said you needed to rest last night, Landon said.
Disturb me, like you… , seriously Landon, these are my people. If I can't protect them, then who will? I replied to him and asked rhetorically.
I know, I know you care so much about us but sometimes, you still need to calm down. We can also handle some things, you know, the soldiers can, he said.
So how many of our members were brought down? I asked
Well, none actually, although some were injured, we outnumbered them and we were able to kill some and some were held in captivity and chained, he answered.
That's a good one, so those held in captivity, why haven't you finished them off, I growled.
I await your orders, Alpha, he bowed and said.
Kill them, I said with no sympathy.
Okay, he said and stepped to move out but paused and turned back.
There was a female rogue, he announced.
A female rogue? I asked him.
Yeah, a female rogue, he repeated, but she seems weak, he added.
That is surprising, female rogues aren't common, are they? I questioned rhetorically.
You know what, take them to the dungeon. I want to see their faces, so I changed my mind as I ordered him back.
Okay, I will do that, he bowed and stepped out.
************************
Alpha Alexander Maximus of the celestial moon pack took the alpha seat when he was eighteen years old. He was known to be one of the most ruthless Alpha in the world, his parents had died when he was just a little boy.
He had seen his parents getting killed before his very own eyes, it was a rogue attack, and that led to his cold demeanor. He had learned to survive by building large walls around himself, he had learned to seclude himself from the outside world, only derived joy from fighting and learning how to strengthen his wolf, he had learned martial arts and knew how to defend himself in the presence of enemies.
He was never known to back down in a fight, he always wins and he always conquers his enemies. So, when the calling to be an Alpha came by, the pack members and elders knew that he was more than capable of leading them.
Prophesied to be among one of the strongest ever known werewolves, he was capable of anything. He was cold, arrogant yet good-looking, and devilishly handsome. Even at twenty-one, other packs know very well not to trespass on his territory, he can kill with just one glance.
Behind those strong features of his was a good alpha. He loves his people and will give anything to ensure that they are safe. He was a great leader, a man of few words, and was loved by all members of his pack.
His closest was the beta. Landon was the only one who was allowed to speak to him informally and questioned his orders but even though he respected him and like any member of the pack, he knew he had a good heart.
The only thing left for Alpha Ryan was his mate, he was yet to find her but he could feel it in him that she would be a special being because else, why hasn't he been able to find her?
He has hosted many events, dinners, and balls, in search of his mate but he has not been able to feel the mate bond with anyone. Even though most ladies have thrown themselves at him, he has been quick to dismiss them. He has to keep himself for his mate and be loyal to her. He was hers and she was his, so he believed.
He had been so eager and curious as to what she would look like, perhaps, the most beautiful werewolf he had ever seen. He would like for his mate to be fierce, strong, one who he can rely on, one who they can rule his members together. He didn't expect less, he just knew she would be a special kind.
Athena, on the other hand, has woken up, they had not taken any pity on her as she was being flogged by whoever. She was being chained and put in prison with others whom she later found out to be rogues. She woke up only to be told that she was one of those rogues who had the guts to trespass on their territory.
On whose territory? who are they, she had thought.
They had looked at her with disdain and were even surprised she was a female rogue. Female rogues aren't common, they had beaten her mercilessly and she had winced in pain, lyra was in pain too. She had wanted to tell them that she wasn't part of these people and she was no rogue but she couldn't even form the word out of her mouth, she was beyond tired and weak.
She had fallen into unconsciousness twice and they had spared her no mercy as they kept flogging her. She could feel her ribs getting broken and her back was red with marks from the constant flogging.
Why was life being cruel to her, she didn't deserve this. Perhaps, she shouldn't have run away. At least, it was better getting married to the old hag than getting tortured for something she didn't do, her situation was a case of fry pan to fire.
But wait, weren't they going to kill her, she was labeled as a rogue and they wouldn't hesitate to kill her. Rogues are betrayers to all their kinds no matter the pack. Perhaps, it was her destiny to die this way, she had thought.
Lyra, she quietly called out to her mate who was even too weak to answer her.
I am sorry for putting you through this, you didn't do this, you didn't deserve me, she said as she let the darkness overcome her for the third time.
