ATHENA POV,

I jerked awake with the splashes of cold water poured on my head. I opened my eyes only to be welcomed by a slap on my cheek, I could feel the stinging of my eyes as tears struggled to flow down.

Before I could stand up, I was being dragged by the hair, I could feel pain oozing out of my body, we were being put in a room which I guessed was a dungeon, and was chained, I could feel the swollen on my wrist due to the effect of being chained for a long time.

Minutes later, a guy enters, he looks scary and it looks as though he had never smiled all his life, but what is it to smile about anyway, life isn't a joke.

He growled loudly and clenched his fist, I could see he was holding back his anger.

Maybe he was their Alpha, I thought.

Suddenly, he looked at me and I could see him walking towards me.

Oh, goddess, please, not now, don't let him order me to be killed, please, I was afraid as he strolled towards me.

What is your name? He asked and surprisingly, his voice was calm.

Athena, I replied in a low and shivering voice.

He looked at me, muttered something I barely heard, and moved back to address everyone.

My name is Landon and I am the Beta, the second in command of the celestial moon pack. We await the Alpha's presence to determine the punishment every one of you will receive and believe me or not, it's going to be death so brace yourself, prepare yourself ready as we don't take pity on any rogue even if it is a female rogue, he said and looked at me again.

Immediately, I understood, they weren't going to be taking any pity on me even as a female, I was going to suffer the same fate which is death as the rest of the rogues, hmm, I signed as I await my judgment.

Why must I be the one to face this fate, why can't I just be like the other wolves, or perhaps, if I was a human, I wouldn't be facing this, I thought but Lyra invaded my thoughts by saying the most unbelievable.

Our mate is close by, Lyra suddenly said, I can feel it, she said again as she started jumping.

Lyra, can't you see we are in danger, we are about to be killed and all you can do is to start talking rubbish. I cautioned her.

Athena, calm down, can't you smell him, he is here, so close by, I can feel him, she sounds eager and excited.

I think I can, I said as I could feel the smell of lavender and the cinnamon scent coming close, this feels nice, I had said unintentionally not thinking of the danger in front of me.

And then, the door suddenly opened and Lyra shouted into my ears, that's him, our mate, she said and I looked up immediately, and simultaneously, he looked up too and recognition dawned on both of us at the same time, we were mates.

He looked at me.

Shut up, he said and growled so loudly that everyone inside the dungeon flinched at the sound, his eyes looked so dark and I could tell that he was so angry.

Alpha Alex, what is wrong? His Beta, Landon asked concerned.

Alpha, he is the Alpha, immediately, I felt dejected and all colors were drained from my face.

He looked at me again and I could tell he was fighting himself, he clenched his fist and looked like he was struggling for his wolf not to come out.

And then, like a flash, before my own eyes, he stormed away with Beta Landon following and closing the door behind him.

I am so dead, I told myself and dropped my head dejectedly.

Why can't the moon goddess just like me, whoever got a mate that would end up killing them, I thought

Oh my goodness, Athena, our mate is so handsome, Lyra said to my ears.

Lyra, can you just keep quiet, can't you see he was going to reject us, he didn't like us a bit, I mean, who would want a rogue as a mate, I told her.

But, we aren't rogues, you should explain to them, you should tell them, she said.

But we ran away from home, Lyra, please, just keep calm, I don't have the strength to argue with you too, I said.

ALPHA ALEXANDER POV,

As I stepped out to go see the rogues that had been captured, I could sense that something was off, Orion seemed excited and curious,

Orion, what is the issue? I asked my wolf.

Can you smell that, that sweet scent, he said.

I inhaled and I could feel it. It was a kind of pineapple, strawberry smell but it was kind of addictive. Hmm, I said as I inhaled the smell. It's a beautiful scent but why are you so excited about that, I asked him cluelessly.

You can be so clueless, Alex, our mate is close by, he announced.

Mate? Here, how possible, I said as I could feel the scent getting stronger and stronger as I moved toward the door of the dungeon.

No, not here, Orion, it definitely can't be here, you can't be playing games with me, I said as I kicked the door and opened it with a loud bang.

Mate, Orion said at once as I looked at the lady crawling up on the floor, chained with shackles. She looked at me with a tired eye and I could tell she understood what we were at once.

I growled as I smelled that scent, of blood, it was from her, she was bleeding, it was making me feel so uncomfortable.

Alex, I think she is badly hurt, our mate is hurt, Orion said.

Shut up, I shouted and growled and I could feel my voice echoing over the four walls of the room.

Landon, my Beta, asked me if anything was wrong and I didn't answer.

I can't wait here any longer, this is driving me into madness, I thought as I stormed out of the room.

I was angry, pissed off, the moon goddess has no one to pick for me except for that rogue, why rogue? I asked myself as I punched the wall with my fist.

Is anything wrong, you seem so angry and pissed off back there, Landon asked me.

Where did you find her? I questioned him.

Who? He asked innocently.

The female rogue, I questioned again, my voice getting loud this time.

Oh, we find her in the forest, with the rogues, he replied. What about her, anything wrong? He asked and I didn't reply.

You can't tell me she is, she isn't…, he asked and shook his head as he finally understood the situation.

Yes, she is, she is Orion's mate, she is my mate, I confirmed.
