For days now, Orion has refused to speak to me, I have called out for him so many times but he won't budge.
Orion, Orion, okay, I promised, I won't shout at you anymore, I said but he didn't answer.
I will go visit her, I said finally.
Really, he jumped and asked.
Oh, so you weren't going to answer me before, I laughed and asked him.
You deserved that, you shouted so loud at me, he said.
I am going to see her and reject her, I told him.
Reject her, you are not going to accept our mate, he asked dejectedly.
I am not going to accept a rogue as a mate, the moon goddess will bless us with another one, I told him.
No, I don't, I don't want another mate, I want her, he refused stubbornly.
Then, we are going to be mateless for life, I can't accept her. I declared.
Alex, I can feel it, I can feel it in me, the mate bond, it is so strong, she is not a bad person, I can sense that and I know you can too, he said.

Tell the Head Omega to bathe her, dress her up, treat her wounds, and take her to the upper chamber. I gave instructions to Landon.
You are going to accept her, he asked me.
Hell no, I can't, I just want to make it easier for me to reject her, at least, the pain would be subtle when I reject her.

Truthfully, I don't. But that lady, Athena, she is too weak for a rogue, she seems so fragile. She seems like someone who can't even harm a fly. He said.

But you know, looks can be deceptive, you know that right, I told him.
I know but something seems off about her, he said.
Did you ask the other rogues if she was part of them? I questioned him.
No, and I think I should, he said.
Ask them and let me be informed of their response, I told him.
Okay, Alpha, he bowed and moved out.

ATHENA POV,
Thankfully, for the next few days after seeing the Alpha, we weren't subjected to any kind of torture and they even brought food to us.
My wound had healed us, one of the advantages of our kind is the ability for our wound to heal up as fast as possible. But my waist was still sore due to the chain shackles.
Later, the one who introduced himself as Landon came and told one of the guards to release me.
Release and untie her, he had said. His face showed no signs of expression and I couldn't tell what was going on in his mind.
The guard quickly untied me without any protest.
Follow me, he said as I stood up to walk behind him.
He led me right in front of a door and told me to enter inside. I looked at him and he opened the door which he closed back as soon as I entered.
Immediately, I entered, and I could see two females which I guessed were omegas already waiting to receive me.
There was a beautiful dress hanging to my right.
They motioned me to come sit down and I couldn't even make head and tail of what they were doing. They began by running a warm shower on me, sat me down, did my makeup, braided my hair, and pulled me into that wonderful dress.
This is going well, Lyra said to me. Maybe our mate decided to finally accept us, she added.
Mate, oh, I forgot we have a mate now, I said
That can't be, right? I asked Lyra hopefully.
Maybe it is, she replied.
After dressing and styling me up, they told me to follow behind them.
Lyra kept shouting and jumping, we are going to meet our mate, Athena, I feel excited, he isn't going to reject us, he wants to see us, she said.
I wouldn't lie, unlike Lyra, I feel so nervous and I could feel the knots in my stomach.
They led me right to another door and told me to enter quietly.
What is happening? I kept asking myself as I stepped inside.
It was darker here, unlike the other room, I couldn't see anything, it was so dark inside.
Maybe this was their plan, to finally kill me, to guide me here and kill me where no one would find me.
Suddenly, the light came on and I saw him, my mate, sitting on a chair in one corner of the room. He was just, just so perfect and I could feel my heart beat erratically just at the sight of him.
I was staring at him, he was staring back, sipping his wine but with no expression on his face.
At once, he stood up, in all his glory, walked toward me, grabbed me, and pulled me to the wall. He looked at me only for me to quiver under his touch and look down. Immediately, he gripped my jaw making me face him and looking directly into his eyes.
God, his eyes are so beautifully made, blue misty eyes, and he smells so nice, the intoxicating smell of lavender and cinnamon, maybe mixed with sandalwood this time around. I was shaking, I was breathing fast and I could hear the thudding of the heart, wait, that wasn't mine, it couldn't have been, was it?
Suddenly, he backed away instantly like I disgusted him, making me fall on my feet.
His eyes were darker now and it looked as though he was fighting something.
No, Orion, no, not now, he started speaking to himself.
He bent down and tugged me up harshly without even caring if I was hurt,
You can't, you can never be my mate, he shouted so loudly that I trembled under him and covered my ears. His voice was deadly and I could see his eyes getting darker every second and now, he was holding back, I could see that his wolf was about resurfacing. He was scaring me, I was scared. His grip on my arm tightened and I could feel his nails tugging into my flesh. He was hurting me.
I winced in pain, please, I pleaded with tears falling down my face, please, you are hurting me, I said again.
I am going to reject you, I am really going to reject you, I can't accept you as my mate, he dropped the bombshell. I will reject you and you will accept my rejection, he announced and started growling.
I, Alexander Maximus rejected you, Athena Miller as my mate and Future Luna of the Celestial Moon pack, he declared.
This was it, the rejection. Well, I didn't expect anything less, did I? I thought as I felt the tears streaming down my face. I grunt as I hold my stomach in pain, I could feel intense pain engulfing me as I fell back to the ground. It hurts, it hurts more than I had thought.
I struggled to stand up as he stared angrily at me, he was struggling to hold back, his eyes were getting darker and darker, and he was waiting for the
acceptance and so, I said the final word,
I, Athena Miller accept your……,
Suddenly, Landon enters,
Alpha….., he calls out, cutting me off from the remaining words.

ALPHA RYAN POV,
I put on the light as soon as she stepped into the room and I was shocked and speechless.
This was something beyond beauty, she looks so f*****g beautiful and the dress fits her curves so perfectly like it was made for her. I was wowed, she looked so flawless and drop-dead gorgeous.
I was short of words and at that point, I had no idea of what to do or say and Orion wasn't helping. He was just too excited.
I was staring at her and she was staring back at me while fluttering her long eyelashes.
But I had to reject her, she was really messing with my brain but I had to do something.
I stood up, stormed toward her, grabbed her, and pulled her to the wall. She looked so frightened and couldn't even meet my stare but I gripped her and made her look directly at me.
Her eyes, it was the most beautiful pair I have ever seen. It was brown and was pulling me in. Her face looked like it was sculptured out, almost like a painting I would like to keep forever as mine.
I looked down and saw it, her lip. It was shaking and she was biting it. So pink and rosy, maybe she added something, I couldn't tell but it was f*****g tempting and she had no idea what she was doing to me at this point.
I can't lose control, not now. I have to reject her no matter what but why can't I seem to form the word out of my mouth, it was difficult and Orion wasn't helping matters. He kept growling and I knew that I just had to put him into control.
You can't, you can never be my mate, I shouted so loudly that I could feel her quiver. My eyes were getting dark and I was holding back, Orion wasn't agreeing with me and I could also feel intense pain surrounding me, I was fighting my wolf. She was becoming so scared as I tightened my grip around her arm and she winced in pain.
Please, you are hurting me, I heard her say.
I am going to reject you, I am really going to reject you, I can't accept you as my mate, I declared. I will reject you and you will accept my rejection, I said again.
I, Alexander Maximus rejected you, Athena Miller as my mate and Future Luna of the Celestial Moon pack, I finally said it.
Orion was disappointed but there was nothing he could do. I looked down at her and she looked like she was about to break down at any moment as she fell on her feet. She was weak and she was feeling pain also, I could tell and I felt some tugging in my heart.
Was she expecting me to accept her, I thought to myself.
She struggled to stand up and I could see her mouth moved, she wanted to say something. She was going to accept my rejection.
I, Athena Miller accept your……,
And before she could accept my rejection, Landon my beta barged into the room.
Alpha….., Landon entered and called out my name.
