2576 25th Street, West Coast, CA 95813
This was the address that the homeowner sent me. I assume nothing in the place as I came here first thing in the morning. Jet lag has always been my companion, and so are my luggage and my pet dog, Zeus. The ride on my way to the apartment was nerve-wrecking. The cab was smelly, the driver was talkative, and Zeus kept on barking. I gave the driver the exact amount of the fare. Don't even expect me to give a tip. I am not interested in his stories at all.
As I walked through the door, I could already tell that I would be dealing with a devilish-type of a homeowner who is nosy and likes to meddle in businesses that she is not even part of, to start with. I inhaled one last time before my social battery started to drain, and finally knocked on the door.
"Ahhh!! Tammia Perez! Good to see you!" A middle-aged woman, around 5ft tall, and carrying a small cat with her greeted me enthusiastically. Like seriously, why do the people here in California are full of energy at this current time? I simply smiled, giving her the idea that 'yeah, I am Tammia Perez. Now show me my apartment so that I can get some sleep'. The woman's husband helped me with my luggage and both of them escorted me towards my apartment.
"Room 354. This is your apartment. Here are the keys. If you need anything, just knock on our apartment. Or you could also ask for some help from one of your neighbors here. He resides in Room 356. Well, we better head down so you can rest." The homeowner finally felt the heavy aura that I was carrying. Upon entering the apartment, I can tell that they are taking care of the apartment. The room was neat to begin with, the windows were clean, and so was the kitchen sink. Everything looks good. I'll start unpacking some of the things later, but for now, my main priority is to get some decent rest before retrieving myself again, and face reality.
17:00 PM
I was awakened not by the sound of Zeus, who was barking because he was hungry, but because of loud music coming from the other side of the room. Now, this is something that pisses me off. I tried to sleep once more, but the more I tried to focus on going back to dreamland, the music was getting louder. I inhaled sharply before getting out of bed, walked out of my apartment and knocked on the neighbor's door, which I believed was the room that the homeowner mentioned earlier regarding asking for help. I knocked on the door, but no one responded. I tried knocking for the second time, but still no answer. I knocked on the door loudly on the third try, the music stopped and I was greeted by a man who was f*****g gorgeous.
"Sir. Sorry to interrupt you, but can you lower down the volume of your music? I am trying to get sleep." I composed myself while trying to deal with the situation, to which he answered flirtatiously.
"Who does sleep at this time? 5:00PM?" Like, seriously dude, what is wrong with you?
"I just got here from Japan, so I am trying to rest. Now, can you at least lower down the volume of your music?" He may be handsome, but I don't like the mindset of this man. But I don't really want to communicate with others right now, I am too tired to do this.
"Well, my apologies for interrupting your sleep. I didn't know that I had a new neighbor coming. Well, I'll stop playing music, if that will satisfy your need for sleep." The way he communicates with me is driving me nuts. I really need to get out of here.
"Well, thank you gent for your kind consideration. I'll see you around." I politely said before taking my leave and going back to bed. As I was about to turn around, he then asked me once again.
"What's your room number?" He asked.
"Room 343," I plainly said.
"What the fuck..." I heard him say those words. I heard a muffled comment, but when I turned around to look at him, his eyes began to switch from flirtatious to being angry. I can also see his eyebrows furrowing. Like, what did I do? Did I do something wrong?
"I'm sorry, but did I say something that suddenly pissed you off?" I asked. I am not like this at all, but I was really trying to recall if I said something wrong, and there wasn't.
"Nothing. Please go back to your apartment." He stormed inside of his apartment, leaving me alone outside, baffled.
Like seriously, what is going on with these people?
