Kristofer stared at the man sitting in front of him as if he was seeing him for the first time. He felt like a stranger to him and it left him in a very awkward situation. Duncan had a bad reputation from the time Kristofer could remember. He didn't know how the man was when he first got married to his mother, but all he could remember about him were the constant arguments and fights he had with his mother.
At that time Duncan Falls didn't have a permanent job. He worked different odd jobs throughout and he earned very little. Duncan could use that as an excuse for his behavior but it did not justify why he always assaulted and beat up Kristofer and his mother. Everyone went through frustrations in their lives but it didn't mean you could take that out on your loved ones.
