The castle was a cold place and everyone was inside, some fought the chill and went out. Others ate in the morning, others were training outside. But there was still uncertainty as no one has seen Lord Wallis Virqua since their arrival. Could they be in danger?
Oscar wakes up the next morning, next to p********e that gave him pleasure the night before. Leo is torn between telling the truth about his love for Clover or to remain silent. He knows that if he remains silent, this could be the last time he sees Clover.
Oscar Foresste's Pov:
My eyes opened dreadfully,my head was spinning.
"You drank too much wine,master."
She was dressing herself up. Her brown skin made her such a sight. She was a foreigner but an exotic masterpiece.
" You were lucky my eyes were open last night. That was the best wine I've ever drank."
I throw the bottle out of the window.
I sat on the bed,no clothes. Why would I need to conceal myself in front of this beauty.
"Come, Rakai, lay with me,tell me a story that will wake me up.
"I have no more stories, master. I've told you every tale, of dragons of monsters, my lips are tired."
"Are they?" We both laughed.
She sat next to me.
"How about a story about you? Where did you come from?"
"A distant land, far from here, beyond the Island of Valleys, past Demar's peek,a grass world full of spice and wine and sex."
" Are there woman like you, where you come from?"
"Yes,master. Even more exotic and beautiful than me. Some of them don't speak, because their voices could kill a man. Our flames are sacred. Only a few possess it and they are believed to be a gift from a Spirit.
Now a story about you,master."
"I grew up fighting,I fought to become a knight,I fought for my family. I served King Esther and protected his children with my life. Then, some evil men took away Commander Halon's children. I was partly at fault so I was stripped of my title,my wife and child died. I had to then serve a child,an orphan. Now I wait for my last breath. But something happened a few weeks ago."
"What,master?"
"A boy, madly in love, naive and cowardly. He is under my discipline and is learning quicky. His heart is taken by a woman ,who if by chance she had a choice, would not be. He is a silly boy but he's the one who is keeping me alive."
Rakai sat on me, I didn't realize she removed her robe. "I wish to keep you alive, every part of you." We made love once again.
Leo Sunsette's Pov:
The river was still and so was I. Tonight may be the last night I see her. I looked out and there she was in the river with me. If only she wasn't high born. I would never get to see her body again.
"Stop acting like me,it's insulting."
" What do you want,Amber? Shouldn't you be locked up in a room, crying or something."
"Not today,I decided to leave the room and I noticed someone else crying."
"I'm not crying."
"I know. My brave and strong brother would never cry, even if his lover was leaving him,"Amber said sarcastically.
"How do you know?"
"Some people in our party knows but I saw it myself. You two were f*****g in the river. What an awful sight,to see your brother's tiny pecker."
" f**k off."
"Look at me." I looked up. Her hair was open,it's never open. "You have to accept it like me or chase after it like you would do. I will say it again. Stop acting like me,f*****g mockingbird."
I smiled and we hugged, tonight was my only chance of making things right. I'm glad that Amber stopped crying about our mother for one day. Her hair even looked like mother's.
Dandelion Virqua's Pov:
"What happened here?"
Everyone was laughing. "Somebody threw a bottle on Lloris' head."
"Stop laughing, all of you and listen. Tonight, something is going to happen, I don't know for sure but that peasant boy is going to make a move. Maybe to even kill the King. So keep your eyes open, the first person to bring me his head will get a night with Rakai, trust me she'll have you sweating."
Maxwell Foresste's Pov:
I sat at the table, near the fireplace and ate the pork the kitchen lady served. I still remember how it squealed until they cut of his head.
All this time we stayed here,I haven't seen or heard from Lord Wallis. The feast was tonight and I wish to ask him for ships or soldiers, anything that will aid us.
Marty sat down and looked at me. He blew his smoke on my face and smiled. He never smiled, what happened to him.
" Why so happy?"
"I didn't know the girls in this castle were so talented, don't tell her but I f****d the kitchen lady's daughter,I even burnt her by mistake, right on her ass."
"That's disgusting,"I said.
"Tell me it's disgusting when you lay down with a girl."
"Im saving myself."
"Save yourself no more, the girl is dead." His face was grim now. He took a pull of his Blackhill.
"Haleina, she told me she wishes to join the Swallows and kill our father."
"The old man had it coming,I saw Haleina's face when he told her. I don't want that prick to touch her. She is doing the right thing by leaving, maybe Clover should leave with her too. Lord Wallis told me Clover is going to marry Kenny Grova from the Black Castle below the mountains."
"I thought their clan died,I guess they still have heirs.Wallis has not spoken to any of except you."
"I guess the man likes me,I told him everything, hopefully he gives us ships and some woman."
The kitchen lady's daughter came over and served Marty the pork. She smiled and walked away and then stopped suddenly. She lifted up her gown and I saw the burn.
___
That night.
The people feasted together. Huge meals were served and the men had their ways with the woman. Everyone was drinking and laughing. Little did they know.
Clover Virqua's Pov:
My dress was tight,so be it. I finished setting my hair, tied and proper, the way father likes it and yet Dany's hair is always untidy. He loves his hair more than himself, never loved a woman other than our mother. Ee are reminded of her every day. The sculptures amd paintings remind me every day about her.
Joanne Sunspear, her name was beautiful. I still don't know why she,of all people in the world, had to fall sick. She loved flowers, father always says. She loved flowers so much that she named her children Clover and Dandelion.
I got to the dining room and it was wild. Everyone was laughing, shouting and dancing. More than half of them were drunk. At each corner of the room, stood a guard, for what reason? My father sat on his throne and watched the jolly people. I sat down next to my companions.
The singers were singing song after song and I watched them have fun,my friends and family were all happy. I looked at him and he looked like somebody died, like he was grieving something.
"What is the matter,Leo, did you have a drink?"
"I don't want one."
"Well, shut up,all of you,the whole lot!" My father shouted for silence,it was now time for negotiations. Hopefully he won't refuse Maxwell's proposal.
"It is time for our honored guests to tell us why they have come here to drink our wine and sleep with our w****s. Step forward, who wishes to speak but before that I would love to announce my daughter's marriage to Kenny Grova,Prince of the Black castle."
Some people cheered, others gasped in shock, I looked at my mother,in true desperation. If only she were still alive, she wouldn't let father do this. The room was quiet,my father waited for someone to speak. Max started to step forward. "I wish to speak!" We all looked behind Max. The person that wanted to negotiate was Leo Sunsette. The squire announced his name and the everyone's eyes were on him and the guards took out their weapons.
Author's note:
There is a lot going on and a lot to process. This part went according to plan. I showed the realistic parts of the Middle Age and the true brutality of medieval times. I hope to create a perfect mix of fantasy and reality.
I'm glad to say that this book is coming along pretty well. I don't care much about the views or votes but I do wish to capture my audience. So,please if you honestly enjoy it,leave a vote or a follow.
I want to clarify that this is a six book series. I'm trying to make it as short as possible,so I can run through all six books with ease.
Afterwards,I plan to write short stories, which I find easier and less costly to write.
