Chapter Twenty Eight Chapter Twenty Eight A mouse ran out from under one of the pews. Spruce’s first instinct was to try to hit it with the broom. That quickly passed, before he could act on it. A different thought interfered from somewhere. What’s a church without a church mouse? It added character to the place. Glancing at the prophets up on the pulpit, he doubted any of them would hurt the mouse, especially if it wasn’t being destructive.
