TWENTY-SIX Grey returned with a silver coin that contained enough magic to quell the seed’s hunger. She didn’t dare ask how he’d obtained it. Details like that were best left unsaid. Once the pain had subsided, Sage found herself finally able to relax into a deep and dreamless sleep. Morning came as quick as blinking, but Sage awoke feeling as if she had slept a week. “You look like you’re ready to take on the world.” Grey startled her with his chipper greeting.
