Chapter Four

730 Words
Eleanor’s POV I continued to walk for a few miles, soon night had struck and all around me was dark apart from one street light, I stood underneath it in the hope my family would be looking for me and would see me more clearly under a light. I sat leaning on the light trying desperately to keep my eyes open, I was exhausted after today’s events, still wearing my gym clothes I decided to let myself fall into a light sleep. When suddenly I heard a low, vicious growl, closer than I would have liked it to be. I sat up immediately looking all around but I could see nothing but darkness, I stood up in the hope I would be able to see better, but it didn’t help. All of a sudden a large copper wolf with piercing black eyes was stood before me growling as it looked me up and down and licked its snout before quickly shifting back into its human form. It was Cameron. I let out a deep breath and ran to him and embraced him in a bear hug almost knocking him to the ground. He looked at me and then at my luggage before glaring into my eyes confused “What are you doing out here? I thought you were a rogue, do you know how dangerous it is to be sitting on the border line of another packs land?!?!” he screamed, almost angry. “I’m sorry I didn’t realise I was on another packs territory, I was just walking to get away from my Pack land and must have walked a little too far” I said while looking down and trying not to giggle at Cameron’s angry naked posture from shifting. He let out a sigh “Ellie why did you leave? Alpha Hunter will be so angry tomorrow when he returns and finds out you just ran away… and for what? because you are scared of the reunion?” I let out a loud sarcastic laugh. Not understanding he moved closer to my bags and picked one up “Come on I’ll help you back, it’s too late to be wandering around by yourself like this” He turned around before I had chance to respond. “NO STOP!” I shouted while grabbing his arm, he turned and looked at me with even more confusion and a frown crept on to his face. Letting out a long sigh and looking down at my fingers I started to confess “Hunter came back early with a mate….He rejected me from the pack and forced me to leave, I can’t go back there…I want to…more than anything, but not like this.” He continued to stare at me, his eyes now showing sadness. “Come with me, you can stay with me and Beth till all this is over” and like that we turned and walked towards his pack house leading the way while I walked behind him dragging my feet, every step felt like a weight I couldn’t lift. We made it to the Blue Moon Pack house after about 10 minutes of walking. He put my luggage in front of the door and mind linked someone in his pack before quickly turning to me “I have to go, but you will be safe here I promise.” He gave me a sympathetic smile and walked towards the woods “Oh Ellie...” I turned to see him standing there smiling “Happy Birthday” and like that he was gone. Wow. What a birthday. I spun round at the sound of the door opening. Beth stood there with a huge smile wearing a sports bra and shorts and her long hair curled into micky mouse buns on top of her head. She grabbed my arm and pulled me into the house where we sat and spoke with a cup of hot chocolate for what felt like hours. She showed me to a small minimalistic room down the corridor. There was nothing special about it, everything was white; it had a bed, chair, mirror and a set of drawers. “I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to stay here” I said with tears filling my eyes, she gave me another hug and nodded with a sympathetic shrug. She turned and walked away and I just sank to the floor leaning my head against the door thinking back to all the events that had happened earlier that day.
