The Trial of the Moon Queen
The world just disappeared in a sea of gold. Aria could not feel the ground under her feet. There was no wind blowing and no sound could be heard.
She had no sense of direction. All she saw was light that went on forever. For one scary moment Aria wondered if she was dead. Then her boots touched stone. The gold light went away. Silence settled around her. Aria slowly opened her eyes. She was standing alone in a circular hall that she had never seen before. The hall had towering marble pillars that went up to a ceiling painted with silver stars that looked like they were moving. There were crystal chandeliers floating in the air without any chains. They were giving off soft moonlight instead of firelight.
