The Trial of Sacrifice
Darkness took over. The light was gone.
The big golden doors closed behind Aria and Damien. They made a loud noise that echoed everywhere. For a moment there was nothing. No walls, no floor and no sky. Just darkness around. Aria reached for Damien's hand without thinking. He took her hand away. His touch made her feel better.
"It feels..." she said quietly.
"...Empty " Damien finished her sentence. He looked around the darkness.
"I do not think this place was made to make people feel comfortable " he said.
Orion was still standing outside the doors. He looked worried.
His voice came from outside into the darkness.
"The Third Trial has been testing every ruler since the kingdom was started."
