Guilt
I am not sure how long it took before I fell asleep. Alex held me close to him all night. I felt safe being close to him, but the events of the day didn’t let me relax. Alex’s hand would rub my waist and my shoulder, but I still couldn’t relax. The next morning came too soon. I felt something move and immediately jumped out of bed. “Kamryn, it’s okay. I was just getting out of bed. Sorry, I was trying not to wake you.” I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. “Are you okay?” He asks. I can hear the concern in his voice. Alex moves to where I am standing and pulls me to him. His hand rubs up and down my back. I feel myself trembling. I know Alex can too. “He can’t hurt you anymore, Kamryn. You and Kayla are safe. I would never let anything happen to either of you.” Alex kisses
