Chapter 91

970 Words

Jayden's POV The training ground was unusually quiet. I walked in slowly, the cool wind brushing through my hair. Every warrior nearby froze when they saw me. Some bowed. Others stepped back quickly. My face was calm, but inside, fire burned in my chest. Carl stood by the corner, arms folded, watching the warriors train. He turned as soon as he felt my presence. “She is over there,” he said simply, nodding towards the far end of the field. Emma stood alone, pretending to train. Her eyes darted around nervously when she saw me coming. “Alpha,” she called with a nervous smile. “I wasn’t expecting you.” I didn’t say a word. My eyes locked with hers, and I saw the fear slowly start to grow in them. “Carl,” I said, my voice cold. “Make sure no one comes close. I don’t want an audience.”
