Chapter 30 Sneaking in
“He left without ordering anything?” Sofia stood next to me as Xander left the diner.
“You? Why are you supporting him? I’m trying so hard to forget him.”
“I’m on the right side. I know how much you loved him and now you are backing off because of the memory loss and his planned wedding. Why can’t you fight for him?”
“I’m afraid something wrong will happen. Nothing comes easy in my life. Or won’t come at all. I don’t want to feel heartbroken in the end.”
“You imagine a lot of worse situations. I can’t change you unless you change your mind.” Sofia left me with those words and I got back to work without letting her words deep inside my mind.
