CHAPTER 38: GOODBYE

1454 Words

BAILEY’S POV             Sir Mike was right. Everything was clear now. I wasn’t dreaming. My memory came back when I was asleep. I remember how Fern’s mother looked directly into my eyes as I cowered in fear and begged for my life 10 years ago, in Evansville forest.             I remembered how she almost killed me using black magic.              “Hey…are you okay?” I heard Fern’s voice the moment I opened my eyes. I felt his hands wrapped around my palms. And eventhough I’m still numb, I tried my best to face him. I opened my mouth but no words came out.             I observed his face and I saw the look of concern in his eyes as he brushes my hair. Her face looks weary and the bags under his eyes tell he little was the sleep he got since he rushed me to the hospital.
