Leaving the Parkers’ house would mean automatically moving in with Geoff. Again, for a change, I was trapped. Maybe I had never left it. Yet I loved Geoff. But I didn’t want to afflict him with all my dramas, he didn’t deserve it. Our situation was already complicated and unstable. I couldn’t completely loosen up with him, I always had difficulties letting go, to express myself.
My brother Alain’s phone call from France gave me hope for a way out.
‘So you really intend to move to London? And when exactly?’ His idea of taking medical specialization in England seemed fantastic to me. More than anything, for me. Leaving the Parkers’ home and going to stay with Alain to help him fix the house or apartment would be a great excuse. ‘I think you should get here as soon as possible.
