This time I was aware of it. I had to act honestly and free Geoff from the bond of our relationship. I wasn’t the right woman for him. I was wretched, ungrateful and treacherous. Unworthy of his love. The truth, whether I liked it or not, was that I couldn’t refrain with Peter Wiles, despite my attempts. I was a human being with its weaknesses, and I was forced to admit it. I wasn’t proud of it, but Peter was my weakness.
