Chapter Four: Flashes of dreams? — A massive headache had struck me as soon as I had opened my eyes.  I felt a huge urge to massage my temples, hoping to lessen the pain. But I was rendered immobile, still. The more I fluttered my eyes open, the more pain I had felt. Nevertheless, I continued to remain my eyes open, disregarding the pain it had brought me. Still, my vision was fuzzy, unable to shift focus on the view in front of me. As soft light and colors were all I could see and the silhouette of furniture and things welcomed my sight. Despite that, I was just happy that I could partially see. The very sight made me wonder if I was currently dreaming or this was the reality. It was as if my mind was playing tricks on me.  It surely felt like a dream. “Holy—” My eyes immediately turned to look for the owner of the voice but my eyes were just welcomed with light. “What have you done, youngling? She shouldn’t be there!” A man had barked in such a gentle manner. Even though he appeared to be mad, based on the tone of his voice, it sounded very holy. I heard a soft sigh then followed by a feminine female voice, “I’m keeping her safe, Azrael. That is my job and I’m just doing what I think is best for her.” Her voice was angelic with a mixture of a sweet tone. Hearing her voice sounded much like she was in a choir, singing. “Keep her safe by placing her there?” He abruptly replied as his breath hitched, “That body should be mourned!” Who are they exactly and why can’t I see them? I wanted to see them. I tried moving my body in order to catch a glimpse but my body was still immobilized so I couldn’t fully scan the room to search for the people who were talking. It clearly bothered me, especially that I had no idea what they were talking about. I felt weak and dumb in this current situation. A soft shriek escaped from the female, “Oh my! Azrael, she’s awake! Can she possibly hear us, or worse; see us?” She asked disregarding what the man had said. “Probably the medicine.” He responded nonchalantly. “Youngling,” He called, there was a pause. “Don’t intervene this time.” Once again, my eyes began to feel heavy as both of them disappeared and no voices were heard except for the rhythmical beating of my heart. I couldn’t catch a glimpse of them, whoever they were. It was just as if I was staring at a void of bright light, nothing more. As my eyes fluttered close, the darkness had cuddled me once again.
