Chapter 13

1350 Words
I was in my final and fifth year. Since I wanted to specialize in potions and not many ever did I got to take professor Lucas' class throughout most of the day, but while in the advanced class I had to do work, and in the beginning classes I helped the students. The one advanced class most of the students took but never passed. I was the only one last year who passed the class. All the girls took it to stare at the professor which made me sick. My attraction like the others never changed, but in all the stories I heard I knew he was never interested in the students. I was the only one who never flirted because I wanted to learn, not try and sleep my way to the grade. "Here's a more advanced book that you will learn from." He placed the book in front of me and smiled. I think he only smiled at me, but it was a friendly gesture. "Thank you. Do you need help today or do I just start reading?" I did it to every book I got. But since this year this was an elective there were no books when I picked up my schedule, and that meant I wasn't able to read the book before classes had started. "It's a lecture day, if you'd like to go up to my office and read you may." I smiled and took my things to his office. Opening the book and looking at it on the way. That was the worst idea. I didn't even make it up one step before I fell. Everyone saw and laughed. I laughed in embarrassment and headed to the office faster. As I closed the door I looked out and saw Professor Lucas staring in worry. I loved his office, he had the best reclining couch to read in. I opened the book and read through about half before the door opened and the professor walked in. "Already halfway through. I'm impressed, I might need to get more books." "Could you?" I asked in excitement. He laughed. "I think I could but it may take a few weeks." "In a few weeks, I'll be done with this. I don't mind." "I'm letting you know you're about to miss your next class." "I hate that the one class I can't seem to pass is the one that haunts my days." I grabbed my things. "See you tomorrow." I rushed out the door and down the stairs out to the hall to make it to my one other class. Future seeing. The one class I can't understand and have to repeat for the second time. "As always nearly making it to class I see." Professor David said. Like if he needed a crystal ball to see that I never wanted to be here on time. "Last year's line doesn't work this year," I said taking the only seat open. "I'll talk to you after class." His face was angry like it always was. At the end of class, I stayed behind. "Why are you in here again when you are too stupid to understand something so simple as readings?" Wow, what a move that was. I know I never paid attention and it clearly shows but saying this was easy and I was stupid was just someone who wasn't getting any. "Okay, I'm stupid why don't you go tell Headmistress how stupid I am to get me out of your class." "There is no need." The Headmistress came into the room. "You don't need to take this class anymore. I talked to professor Lucas and he thinks you will have a better time in potions." "Potions?" David laughed. "You are in potions? That's not even useful." "You know what's funny is I could say the same about your class. It's meant for the people who can't handle the complex skills needed for potions." I left the book for this class on the table and left the room. I went to Lucas' office to say thank you. I knocked on the door. I heard rustling. "Sir?" The door opened and Lucas looked like he was happy I was there. I looked past him and saw a girl laying on her stomach on the floor angry. Past her, I saw all the papers all over. He turned to the girl. "I think I answered your question so please leave." She got off the floor, dusted herself off, and stormed out. "Everything okay sir? Your papers are everywhere. Do you want me to help?" "Could you." He moved inside the room and I followed. "I did come over to say thank you for talking to the Headmistress. Professor David called me stupid." I started picking up the papers. "It was no problem. I know you couldn't pass it a third time and knew it would only stress you out. I also was able to order not two books but four." "Four books! Thank you." I rushed and hugged him crumpling the papers in both our hands. "Sorry." I stepped back and put the papers in my hands on the desk trying to smooth them out. "Are they books you have studied from?" "They are when I was in advanced school." "Wow, advanced books." I looked at the papers seeing the less wrinkled pages. I finished the last of the papers and helped place them into their piles. "I have an odd question to ask you." Lucas seemed different than his normal self. "What is it, sir?" I sat on the couch. "You don't act like the other girls around me." "Well, you are attractive sir, but I don't think throwing myself at you will teach me anything." "I do appreciate it. I was just not sure why you never did the sitting on my desk and hiking up your skirt." I got up from the couch and went to his desk. "Let me understand this every girl comes in, sits here," I moved onto his desk, "and pulls up their skirt like this?" I moved my skirt up higher than it normally sat. "Yes." He placed his hand on my thigh. When his hand was on me I did something out of a reaction. I moved and kissed him. It wasn't in a way of making out but it also wasn't a peak. I stopped it. I pulled back and moved off the desk. "I'm so sorry sir, I-." "No, I'm sorry, I'm the adult I shouldn't have-." I grabbed my things. "I should go then. Please don't be mad at me." "No, I'm not, I put you in that situation." "For what it's worth sir, it did feel nice." I went to open the door. But he put his hand on the door. "Please don't go." He said in my ear. "I do find you attractive too." I turned around to look at him. "Something about this year, I see you differently." I did it again, I moved towards his already close body and kissed him. I couldn't move back from this kiss even if I tried. He had me pinned. The only response I could give was to wrap my legs around him. I'm not sure how much time passed before a knock on the door made us stop. I unwrapped myself from around him and grabbed my things and opened the door. Another girl standing there hoping to score with him. I moved past her and she went in and closed the door. I leaned against the door trying to get my heart rhythm back to normal. I didn't stay there long before the door opened and I fell to the floor. The girl looked at me and walked over to me to get out. I started to laugh. Then Nicholas started. "Are you okay? This is the third time you have fallen today." "No, I've only fallen twice today." "I think you should think about that." He laughed and helped me up. It took me a second. "I didn't fall through since you were holding me."
