I couldn't wait for Ulfric to get the f**k out of my territory and leave us alone. I didn't understand why he was still hanging around after Ember had beaten Beatrice into the ground.
He had eventually relented and sent one of his low-rank retainers to escort her to the infirmary, much to her dismay. She was a failure in his eyes and Ulfric had never been one to tolerate failure, not even from his own family.
I knew that Rae would be arriving any day now, and if Ulfric was still here when he arrived then..well, that could lead to all sorts of problems.
Ember knew that something was wrong with me, she could feel the tension through our bond but I couldn't even be honest with her about this. There were only so many times that I could lie to her without feeling guilty
