Amanda Black
"Are you fine?" Alexandra asked, looking at my hand.
"Yah, just a cut." I brushed her away. She looked at me confused. I turned her around to fix her hearing aid battery. Yes, she is deaf and cannot hear a single sound without that aid. "It's just a cut!" I told her again.
"Oh!" She blushed, embarrassed. She is so innocent.
"At what time are you coming back?"
"At eight, probably, Flo told me she would arrange dinner."
"Okay, take care!" She nodded in response. I took off to school with my skateboard. Yes, that's how I go to the only place I love in this whole world: school. I'M NOT SARCASTIC. I actually like school; it's where I can have some peace, no douche or his b***h. Oh wait! You don't know who they are; you don't even know who I am. My bad!
Hi, I am Amanda Black. I'm... well, you don't have to know my age. I have a twin sister, Alexandra. We are both completely opposite. She is naive, innocent, sweet, and loveable. Well, I'm the b***h you don't want to meet. I get into fights; I have anger issues, and there are many other things you don't want to know. I have a douchebag for a father and a bitchy stepmother.
Why do I call them that?
They could have been called worse, but I didn't find any other words, so...
Still, why do I call them that?
Because they both escaped a prison in hell to torture me. If you were me, you would have called child protection and put them behind bars. They abuse me so... now, you get it? I just go through it for Ally; if it were not me, then it would be her, and that thought annoys the s**t out of me. That doesn't mean I let them do whatever they want. I fight them. I fight them every time. I just don't succeed because they are big humans and I'm small. If not, I would have hit the s**t out of them.
I reached and skated inside the school, took the books I needed from my locker, put my skateboard inside, and shut it, only to come across Ben bullying my sister.
"Look, the nerd is here!" He laughed. Does he think he is funny?
"Her bully sister is here too." I interrupted, holding his hand, which was about to pull out Ally's hearing aid. "Do you want a chance to run before I smack that face of yours or not?"
"I..." he stuttered. Yes! He is scared of me; everyone in the school is scared of me, except for Ally.
"Manda, let him go!" Ally spoke in a soft voice, calming me down instantly.
"My sister chose the option for you, and she asked me to let you run." So, run!" I let go of his hand, and he ran from there.
"I'm sorry," she said softly.
"Just get to the class already!" I rolled my eyes before I went into the class. She followed behind me, soon accompanied by her best friend, Florida. I don't like that girl as much, but she keeps Ally happy, and that's enough. I went to the back and sat. Yup, I sit alone and don't have any friends. Come on, who wants to be friends with the girl they are afraid of?
Why do they fear me?
There were these bullies called George and Chad. I had left them bleeding on the floor when they tried bullying my sister. Now you get it?
Soon, school was over—earlier than I had asked for. Now I was alone in the hell I called home. Alone. I was watching Netflix in Alexandra's room when I heard the door knock. It has to be the b***h. She hadn't come home last night. I ran down quickly and opened the door for her to enter.
It was not her; it was... It was the police. What the hell?! What if they got to know? f**k no, no, no, no.
"Hello...." An almost young lady, probably in her forties, spoke.
"Amanda..."
"Yes. Amanda Black. Hello! I'm Elizabeth Matthew, chief of San Diego police. Would you mind us coming in?" She asked in a polite tone. I shook my head and let her in. I pointed towards the sofa. She sat down and gave me a sad smile. A shiver ran down my spine.
"Child... I'm really sorry to tell you, but... your mom was found dead this morning in a car accident." I was in complete shock. Okay, I hate her, but if she dies and if Dad... then Alexandra will be homeless. Yes! Even I'll, but f**k me. She is not supposed to be homeless. "Do you know when Daddy is coming back?" she asked. I froze in my spot. "Or where is he at this moment?" I shivered at the questions but managed to shake my head no. "It's okay, darling! Where is your sister, Alexandra?" she asked.
"Her friends and she are going to stay there until we know what to do next. I don't want her to come to the police station or anywhere else." I ordered, leaving no place for any argument. She looked confused but managed to give me a smile before nodding.
"Okay, as you say. Can we check the house?
"Why?"
"Hmmm... your mom's body was found with... drugs, darling."
"Yah, you can check the house; just don't break anything!"
"Okay!" She said, and her assistant, who introduced himself as Ryan, chuckled. Some other officers came in, and they all went around the house, searching for whatever they could find.
"Boss!" an officer called from the douche's room. I went in with the chief, who was hot on the trails.
"Approximately one kilogram!" he said, shaking the packet as if checking its weight.
"Cut it!" She gave him a pocket knife.
"Marijuana..." he trailed off, shocked after cutting the packet.
"And a hundred strips of LSD." Another man interrupted.
"Boss!" This time, it was Ryan. He entered the room with the b***h's phone.
"On a run. Nice! Find him!" she ordered, once she read something from her phone. She turned toward me and gave me a warm smile. "Do you know any friends or relatives, darling?" she asked.
"No!" I spat.
"Okay..." she trailed off. "You will have to come with me to the police station. Why don't you pack your bags?"
"Bags?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Child, your dad has run away. You will either have to stay in the foster house or with a relative." I nodded at her before going to my room. I packed my clothes, which were not even half of the medium-sized trolley bag, and went to Ally's room to pack hers. I kept all her things, which filled up a complete hiking backpack, a mini suitcase, and a huge trolley bag. I put the rest of her things in my bag, and there was still room for the wooden box I treasure. I put the box in and left the room. Ryan soon came by my side to help me. I gave him Ally's bag and backpack. We went to the car and placed everything there.
