The Academy went into lockdown the next day.
Classes were suspended. Students confined to their dorms except for meals and supervised activities.
The Headmaster was questioning everyone connected to Victoria's clan.
Including Cole.
I hadn't seen him since the tower. Didn't know if he was okay or if Victoria had punished him for his betrayal.
Part of me cared. The part that remembered loving him.
But a bigger part was just done. Done with the lies. Done with the manipulation.
Done with being used.
I was in the training room, working out my frustration on a punching bag, when Liam appeared.
"Thought I'd find you here," he said.
"Can't sit still. Too much nervous energy."
"Want a sparring partner?"
"You sure? I'm not exactly gentle right now."
"I can handle it."
