The council meeting was shorter than I expected. Twenty minutes of questions about what I'd found in the f*******n zone. What the carvings showed me. What powers had awakened.
I told them everything. Mostly. Left out a few details about the figure who'd blocked my path. About the spy. About how much danger I sensed closing in.
They dismissed me with warnings. Stay out of f*******n areas. Focus on the challenge. Let them handle the bigger threats.
Like I could just turn off my instincts and ignore everything happening around me.
