CHAPTER 4:THE ILLUSION OF ENTICEMENT

1034 Words
“What’s this, Cindy? Andre asked, bewildered as soon as he saw her unclad. It was his first time calling her by her first name and it was due to the shock. “I just thought to offer you a moment of respite”, Cindy said and moved closer to him as gently as she could, allowing him to process what was about to befall him. “Do you realize that this is inappropriate?” He asked, trying to regain composure. “Do you realize it is inappropriate to not fall in love for three years?” She asked back almost immediately, still moving gently towards him. Seems like she was ready for him. He needed to act fast, he thought as he began to move backward. She moved an inch forward, he moved an inch backward. He won’t fall for this, he said. He had experienced about three incidents like this. First was his secretary in one of his companies, second was a maid he employed two years ago, the third was a business associate in a meeting conference and the fourth was Cindy, still staring at him amorously like she was some sort of a beast, waiting to devour him. He increased his backward movement by two steps now when he noticed she was getting closer. Okay! He had to stop this game. “Stop, Cindy!” He cried loudly. “Have you gone nuts?” He continued, his eyes widening. Cindy stopped, surprised that he could resist her. This tactic has never failed and it won’t fail now, she thought. She would act fast. And all of a sudden, she ran fast towards him and held him firmly with all her might all to Andre’s surprise. She was determined to sleep with him to secure her slot in his house. She leaned closer and attempted to kiss him, interrupting his next statement. Her attempt was met by a firm rejection as he pushed her to the ground. “Get up and get out before I call the cops,” he shouted. He had regained his composure now and he had finally taken control of the situation. He moved over to where her clothes were and dropped them on her, where she lay. “Get up and wear your clothes now, he reiterated. “Oh, you think I am bluffing? Wait until I call the hospital to report you and then report you to the cops.” He said and reached for his phone. It was that time she knew she had messed up and needed to act fast. “Mr. Matt, please do not call the hospital!” She cried quickly rushing to her knees and holding his legs. He jerked her hands and motioned for her to get out and leave the house. She quickly stood put on her gown hurriedly and headed out. “Your medical kit” he called back and she shamefully turned back to carry it. The game had fallen on her face and she would lose on both sides, she thought as she moved her disheveled hair out of her sweaty face. Maybe she could beg him not to report her to the hospital. As she carried the kit, she turned and started crying. Then, she knelt and pleaded. “Please do not report me to the hospital, I am the only one fending for my family and if I get sacked, we will all die of hunger. I did this out of desperation. I will never try such in my entire life again. I won’t even come near your estate forever” she begged with tears streaming down her face.”I am not interested in your stories, get out and never return”, he said even though a wave of pity hit him. She stood up and left the room with her head bowed like a loser. As soon as she left, he hurriedly left to lock the door and pressed his back against it. He held his head in his hands, his heart thumping. He always outrightly refused the ladies’ advances but today, he was so close to falling prey. Ladies are desperately wicked, he thought. He already knew all their plans to sleep with him and pin the pregnancy on him and he wasn’t going to allow a lady ruin his career. He reached for his phone and called Doctor Peterson to ask for a replacement for Cindy. When asked what the matter was, he said he didn’t want her anymore. Seeing that Andre wouldn’t reveal further, Doctor Peterson obliged and said he would send a replacement. Andre wanted to report Cindy to the hospital but he thought about what she said. The state of her family and her having to solely must have frustrated her. Poverty sure causes people to do bad things, he thought. Well, he pitied her but he didn’t want to ever see her again. He then went out to strictly warn the security guards not to allow Cindy to enter the estate anymore. Back at the hospital, Doctor Peterson sat in his office, thinking of what made Andre ask for a replacement. He knew the capabilities of all his nurses and he knew, particularly what Cindy could do. So, Andre asking for a substitute meant that Cindy had shown her true colors there. But he wouldn’t stress it any further. He knew who to call as a replacement, of course, but he was worried. Although, Nurse Alicia is the best and the most preferred amongst all his nurses, all the patients like and adore her but he is worried that her likable and agreeable quality could cause Andre to lose focus. Alicia was flawlessly beautiful, good at her work, and had a good heart. It took a stone-hearted person not to fall in love with her. But she is married and he feared that it may cause trouble in her home. Plus, in recent times, she had been acting weirdly and he suspected that it was a marital issue. He would send Alicia, he concluded as he stood up. But he knew, of a certainty that Andre would fall in love with Alicia. Definitely.
