Serenity's Pov.

"Father!!" I yelled crashing through his office doors dragging Trinity behind me "There's.... There's..." My father held his hand up to stop me from rambling. "First of all Calm yourselves There's no need to over react, I'm going to assume you have seen Prince Maliki's wolf Capser by your reactions. It's alright dears he's here for the meeting with your mother and myself." he simply explained as he placed his head on his hands. Trinity and I stared at him in utter disbelief. He actually allowed that massive beast in our land? What is he thinking! What about Slade and Iris how are they gonna react. "Girls please close your mouths, your drooling on my carpet." My mother giggled as she walked in with a tray of tea. "Mother... You knew about the wolf then? Isn't it dangerous.. How are Slade and Iris going to react? And who is this Prince Maliki?" I couldn't stop my mouth from rambling on. My mother placed her right hand on my father's shoulder as she looked at the ground for a second mulling my words. "Well technically we didn't know about Casper until they were already on our lands but it's alright we've already taken precautions with our other halves. They have agreed to behave themselves unless a threat is seen, Of course." My father covered her hand with his own as he sat back in his chair. "As far as Prince Maliki goes, You will be the first to know after this meeting. I assure you it's for the better why don't you girls go to town, I'll send for Mr. Dale to escort you." Obviously being dismissed we turned out of the room. Trinity still shaking standing next to me from the sight of the wolf. "So that's it? We just go to town and forget the beast and unknown Prince?" Her voice echoed my own thoughts "Of course not Trin, we're going to do what we do best." I replied smiling to her as she c****d her head sideways in confusion. "And what is that?" I grabbed her hand and headed for the library before Mr. Dale found us. "Be nosy of course!" There has to be something in this library that explains this Prince we haven't heard of. History books maybe? only problem is we don't know his last name to track his line. I paced the library trying to think of how, I'm the smartest in our classes there has to be a way. His wolf! Of course not everyone has a giant beast like that it surely must be recorded somewhere right? "Trinity grab every book that even remotely mentions wolves, we don't have long before Mr. Dale finds us." As she took off doing what I asked. Cough cough "You were saying?" Grumbling I turned to see the speak of the devil standing in the door way his 6'1 tall blonde haired blue eyed stature looming. "We're not going to town Ricky, there's more pressing matters." I replied casually not caring I used his first name. Regardless of being royalty I don't see the use of speaking to my closet friends by such a formal greeting. "And those pressing matters would be digging up information on Prince Maliki?" He stepped closer as he investigated the books we had gathered on the table. "You won't find anything of him in these unfortunately. You've heard of werewolves, shifters, Vampires and witch's yes?" he mentions casually. "You can't be serious. They are stories for children to make them behave or else the big bad wolf will come take you away in your sleep." I stared at him flabbergasted as his eyes twinkled with a mischievous hint. "If that's what you assume Princess. Of course they don't compare to the Dragon masters who are at the top of the chain line. Much like your parents." I shook my head wrapping myself in his words. Are there really other things out there that have been hiding all this while? Couldn't be.. I can't see it, wouldn't we know? Shouldn't there be signs? Trinity stood in the corner of the room silent and listening, malice rolling off her skin as Mr. Dale rambled on and on about wiped out packs. She was sure the darkness took care of them long ago she was certain of it... She had been there in the shadows. "Perhaps another time we will discuss the different packs Princess. For now let's see." He hummed as he walked to the back shelves and reached for a faded small notebook size diary before returning to the table I was at mulling over the words he had said. All this time could I have been so blind as to not see the packs rebuilding? Why was I such in the dark shouldn't I know these things? "I will leave you girls to it then." His smile fading as Trinity came closer to the table he looked away just as quickly as his face had changed and turned to leave the room. I guess you could call him our personal bodyguard minus the guarding. "So who's diary is that Serenity!" Trinity excitedly bounced up and down as my hands wavered over the cover. I wiped the thick dust off of it revealing a crescent moon and stars decorating the corners and spine. I've seen that symbol before in my studies. It's the werewolves goddess symbol if I remember correctly. "I don't have a clue Trin but we're about to find out." I told her as I traced the patterns on the cover before opening it as Trinity inched closer to see herself. It's the late Lunas diary seems her name was Flora. She speaks about her childhood as I scanned the pages, the torture she endeared from her parents and sister. I held my hand to my mouth as I gasped tears gripping my eyes as she explains being chained to the basement for days on end beaten and whipped. I continued to turn the pages as she describes how she ran away on the night of her 18th birthday. Her evil sister had plans to kill her because she was jealous but she overheard the plans and took off into the woods. She mentions her wolf Daisy describes her as a gold and silver speckled sight with silver eyes and a black crescent moon on her hip a sign the goddess herself blessed her and her wolf. As she traveled into the woods towards the territory line she was jumped by the alphas son Juniper as he claimed her as his mate. She mentions her mate finding the scars and throwing her family in the cells for what they've done to her. I finally breathed a breath of air I didn't know I'd been holding as I continued to read her life story. I flipped a few more pages as she mentions her pregnancy, how they were overjoyed when their little prince finally came they named him Maliki. To their surprise something was wrong though he didn't smell like a werewolf to them he wasn't born with a wolf instead a black wolf pup showed up in Malikis crib the next day. From then on they were inseparable, to their surprise and many witches looking for answers they all concluded that the pup was supposed to be Maliki's wolf but they have no answers as to why he was flesh and bone vs inside a shifter as he should be. Her next entry was some years later she speaks of how sweet and caring her son is and how proud of him her and her mate are of him. She mentions how her and her mate will be leaving that night for the Dragon masters land to help them fight the Darkness along with the leaders of every other pack on this continent. They had banded together against a single threat. She describes the Darkness as a single terrifying man that can wipe out a town in a snap of his fingers. My skin crawled as I pushed the diary away for a moment, their mission was suicide why would the packs do that to themselves. Surely they must have known it was a impossible outcome. I undid my ponytail and shook my hair out to avoid getting a migraine from all the new information. Trinity stood next to me frowning at what we were reading I couldn't read her expression but I could tell it wasn't anything good maybe she was just as shocked as myself. Turning the page to the diary Flora describes how All the pack leaders arrived to late. The town was ash, blood, people and dragons scattered the lands. She said the sight and smell was sickening for their heightened senses as everyone looked on in horror. They had found the king and his dragon Slade covering his wife and her dragon Iris with their own comforting them as they lay dying. The leader of the Witches Dres moved as quickly as she could and sent for backup as she tried everything she could to save the queen while ten of her pack worked to save Iris. Both sitting at deaths door, if we had been any earlier none of us would have survived. If we were any later the queen and her dragon wouldn't be alive either. I closed the diary and sat there tears streaming my eyes. Why was I never taught this in my lessons. "Oh babes..." Trinity's arms wrapped around shoulders as my body shook from crying. I grabbed her arm and buried my face recalling the dairy. That poor woman endured so much suffering and no one stopped it for 18 years then to almost lose her life in the end against the Darkness would've left her child a orphan. My heart broke I wanted information about the Prince but instead I got this. I sniffled as I released Trinity's arm cringing at the red hand marks from gripping her to tightly for comfort. "It's okay Serenity. I'm here for you the marks will fade in a few minutes." She whispered as she pulled back. Looking at the clock she cringed "I better get going babes, I promised my parents I wouldn't be late for a lunch in." I gave her a small smile and and nodded my head that she understood as she gave me another tight hug and headed for the door. I continued to sit in the library for a moment longer before holding the dairy to my chest. I walked absently out of the room and into the hallway before smacking right into something warm and solid making me gasp in surprise.
